...if they want than ban him for life after but he earned it and they let him keep playing. I bet they wouldnt have a problem if he was trying to do it and lost money, I doubt they would have refunded him losses because he was so called cheating.
Yeah, I was speculating back when this story first came out that it seemed like the casino was basically freerolling him.
The judge apparently didn't find that to be the case though - he seemed to be of the impression that the casino was genuinely clueless as to what he was doing, and the nasty Mister Ivey lied to them and put one over on them.
I find that hard to believe, mostly because if really
is true then the casino needs to fire the game security people overseeing the session for gross incompetence. And while I haven't read the whole judgement in the case word for word, I found it interesting that nobody seems to have directly
asked the staff working on the night "did you recognise that he was edge sorting?".
IANAL and I don't know that it would change the outcome of the case even if they did say "yes", but it would certainly be interesting information...
