^^Does this mean that now I have to get an Atlantic city local address,Open an account with the casino to be able to play at PS?

From my understanding you have to be a resident of New Jersey to be able to play at pokerstars if the deal passes. But I have also heard that after the bill passes Pokerstars will somehow be able to offer real money games to the rest of the United States.

If that became the reality, do you have any idea how many displaced Americans would move back from canada to NJ?

Whatever the outcome, its an exciting time in the history of Poker in America.

I'm in Texas and will get my luggage ready to make the move lol,I'ts amazing what people will do to be able to gamble.
Just yesterday I tried connecting through a vpn to play at ps ftp and either I did it wrong or something because when I tried to join a freeroll ps detected i was from USA:(

Anyone else successful trying the vpn thing?
I know that IF I get detected they can close my account, I only want it for freerolls.

The governor has conditionally vetoed the bill. This is a good outcome for online poker players. He added three things to the bill and sent it back to New Jersey legislators. This is the second best outcome that could have happened today so online poker in New Jersey is still very much on track.

Yep - it is looking promising. He wants to raise the taxes from 8% to 15% though.

I hope they legalize poker for the United States but, I would get my hopes up. There are couple big problems. Number one religious reasons, number two all of the wives, that their husbands have lost their hole checks. Number three, the big casinos, it's not in their best interest to legalize it. Just think of it Y should any of us go to a casino and gamble when we can do it at home in complete comfort.

The casinos will still make a ton of money. Pokerstars would most likely increase the poker traffic at the casinos in New Jersey because more people will be playing the game. We also have to take into consideration that poker does not make to much money for casinos compared to slots and other table games.

If the bill passes then Pokerstars will likely come back to the state of New Jersey.

So, Gov. Christie waited until the deadline? Anyone else see the conditional veto as just another delay tactic?

No if you read the entire counter offer, he says he will pass it provided his increased taxes are made law.

Nope. He would've outright veto'ed it if he didn't want it to happen at all. He's not afraid to veto something, he did it once before.

I guess we'll see - I'm pessimistic about politicians doing what they say they'll do.

Gotham - it passed, but the Governor vetoed it. So, not a done deal. Unless you have a link where Christie signed it?
