sad state of affairs when you can't have gambling in your own house, but it is fine for a corporation to do the same thing. Maybe, a license is required? Getting state approval before customers walk into your gambling den.
BUT IN THE USA , ISNT A CORPORATION A PERSON ?

If you're paying the house to play, it's not going to pass as a home game. Head to Cherokee or W Va. if you really need a game. I'm hoping we see more casinos in N. Carolina soon.

NCDaddy,

Just curious if you knew Christian Lusardi. I never played any games in the Fayettenam area.

The casino of choice is becoming Baltimore....It's about the same distance as Cherokee and has much better games

Lusardi was the guy busted for bringing 800k worth of counterfeit chips into a Borgata $2M GTD poker tournament. (He was caught when he flushed them down the toilet, clogged up the pipes) He's from Fayetteville, and was busted previously for running home games. He ended up getting 5 years (since he had bootleg DVD charges also).

Guys and gals: if you play at home games in NC, regardless of the stakes, be aware that there have been multiple busts over the last month or so. I'm in the Raleigh area and I know of 3 that were busted with some arrests in just the past few weeks. Stay alert. Be safe. Don't go to games with "other" activities going on.

Jesus, that's ridiculous. So glad I live in canada. I really hope for all you Americans that you guys get all this stuff sorted out soon.

In 32 years of playing live home games, I can tell you that many times, a game gets busted because 1 of the players is losing to much money and the wife/girlfriend reports the game to get it shutdown because BILL MONEY, is being lost in poker games.

Furthermore, if you are concerned about a game getting busted, make sure to not take all your money inside the game itself. Just take in the minimum, and if you lose it, go out to your LOCKED vehichle and get some more money. Many states have a law that if police bust a game, they can only take the cash thats in the room/ game.
