All who get back a substantial amount may wanna consider claiming it as gambling winnings on their taxes; even if you can show a corresponding amount of losses. With the DOJ involved, I wouldn't be surprised if the money isn't flagged.

Most of us have already paid taxes on our winnings. You don't pay taxes when you withdrawal, you pay when you win.

As to taxes, as WVH said, it's past time to claim it now. But the DOJ and the IRS aren't exactly friendly and work in different arms of government. I'd be highly surprised if there were any cooperation between them.

Yeah. As soon as the wife heard she tells me good cause she wants to send the kid to a different private preschool next year instead of the free one the state offers. Cost is just over $5K. So long "extra" money!
