online poker is just fun for me. I play freerolls, increase my bankroll and generally enjoy all the benefits of the game. I think those who say online poker is dead just don't have enough skills to get good results.

A friend and I used to play the same tournaments in the same house, but big tournaments are a lot of tables, and we only got together 1 time closer to the finals. It was also difficult to do in MTT. So I think it's hard to earn this way.

You can make money, but it depends largely on your skill level, the stakes you're playing at, and the volume you are putting in. If you are not playing very often and are playing where you have little to no edge, then variance is going to be huge and it's unlikely you will be consistently making money.

I have never been an online poker fan and religiously favour live. That being said I find money can be made, it just depends how you wish to get it. By this I mean your follow in intentions....
If you wish to and have the patience to grind comps then I suggest you don't mess about with micro stakes unless you wish it's growth (bankroll) from winnings. Deposit a sum, give yourself 20 odd comps and grind your heart out insuring you don't just play any old comps, and rather not pick those that favour you.
As for cash, if you would happily play live for a specific sum then deposit that and allow yourself 5 to 10 buy ins at a minimum if your a nit and play your own game. If your a GTO head then I'd advice 40 to 50 min.

yes , of course you can make money online , I think almost everyone can do it ...the most important is to have a very good control on your action and if you have a bad start dont invest / deposit money that you cant afford to lose , so you dont get influence in the day by day life

You can certainly make money in online poker, you just need to dedicate yourself and play a lot, the best sites in my opinion are poker stars, 888 poker and WPT

It is all relative to what you want from the game? Personally I play for fun, I can multi table up to a certain amount of games but do I want to? No! Once you start to multi table it becomes a form of Work and the game loses it's appeal, If I wanted to work hard I would find a Job with a guaranteed wage at the end of the Week/Month, It's not always about the money.
I can play on many Poker platforms that offer no money games and all you are playing for is a chance to increase award points to level up your on-line character, Losing your Bankroll is just inconvenient and you have to start from scratch
I also made a living off Horse Racing bets when I was younger, but like any form of gambling it is a rollercoaster ride, with more down swings than up swings, so I gave it up, Learning my lesson at an early age I can now play Poker and gamble a little without it causing any problems.
Moderation is the key when it comes to any form of gambling and Poker is just that, Gambling!

Online poker is not some hidden secret, which has been waiting +20 years just for you to discover it. So the chance of getting rich fast, as several players did in the early hey-days, is very low. But there are still people making substantial money in high stakes online MTTs. This require a lot of study and talent though, so for anyone playing poker as a part-time hobby, we are likely never going to get rich from it. But we can still make a small side income like maybe 200-500 dollars per month on average. Of course depending on how much time and effort we put into it.
