Less than 5%,,,,are considered "winning" poker players.I bet it's even less for that network,,,so don't hold your breath. (and dont feel bad,you're the majority)

for several reasons i don't be a hight rollers winner players.. i have a poor motivation for the poker study.. the bankroll was my first problem.. the cash was very dificult to me.. today i'm learning but the it's an nightmare history..

I play cash at the dog tracks. Have been since 17. Had to keep low profile due to age limit. Once. I hit 18 I hit it hard. Not made as much as you have but it's only been a year. I only have around 13 thousand but it seems last two months I've taken a lot of big beats. It happens.
I've played on winning poker in both skins. I'm no high roller so my deposits are the minimum. I notice right after I deposit I seem to hit. Build my roll up 4 to give times it's value then go dead. Which is weird if your playing four tables to go dead on all four. Then you start getting hands you can't fold. Well you can fold but not likly. Doesn't matter cash or tourney. Cycle starts again. So no I can't say I'm a winning player online.
I've learned to look out for a few things. Flop two pair your beat. Flop a straight with two cards of the same suit your beat. All in pre Flop with three players worst hand win ever time. If I could imagine a program I would call it the underdog programming. I still run pretty deep and I'm entertained but do big deposits in my future.

Really miss the free rolls. Not the demand ones but all the others. Its been annouying.

I am not a great player, I just play freerolls on WPN, so yes, I am ahead.

i think that if u need the money this is not the right way, a Lot of people get it too late.. and im one more in the list lol.

I mainly play tournaments on WPN. I do have a positive ROI, but it's single digits, and I've seen crazy swings.

At specificly Winning poker network i am a +-0 guy xD i only played freerolls on the website, and i won a few bucks during the last year, however i managed to loose all earnings aswell so im at exactly +-0 on that netowrk!

Yes I am a winning online poker player, mainly on the largest and reportedly toughest site of them all PokerStars. I am not winning as much, as I like, but winning non the less.

A lot of live players make the mistake of starting out at way to high stakes, when they move online. Because of the significantly higher number of hands, that can be played per hour, online games are way tougher than similar stakes live games.

Guys from places like Eastern Europe and South America can actually make a living playing stakes like 10c/25c online, because their living costs are low, and they can easily play 100.000 hands a month or more.

I dont think its just winning poker network its more then just them. You know since ive been playing online poker i cant lie and say ive von but my account on americas cardroom screename on shark scope does say that my ROI is 96.4% and my ITM is 5.9% my early finishes is8.7% early mid finishes 17.7% and late finishes 7% mid finishes is 46.8% and mid late finishes is 19.7% and that activity is from 10/13/2018 to 05/19/2019 now those are all freerolls and i dont knoew to much about statistics if that good or not but everytting i won hasw been lost at the cash tables

Pre Black Friday I was a winner. I didn’t play for a few years after that. When I returned I won initially on bovada for a few months. After they bounced a couple of checks and sent a couple more Canadian checks that no one would accept I had to threaten them with legal action to get a cash out. There were no winning sessions following that. Shortly after blovada went anonymous and collusion exploded. I tried acr after that debacle and made a few deposits but I can’t dodge runner runner draws and my opponents can’t fold them so I can’t win on wpn either especially when you factor in rake,
the prevalence of bots and rampant, rapidly evolving collusion.

My average is a hundred dollars a year.

Over the last 3 years I think I am just slightly ahead in online cash games.
During the same time period I am down in tournaments for a net result of being down online.

If you are like me, you hate online but find it very convenient.
I'd play live every session if I could, especially if you are in the states...

This is a question I often ask while playing. It does seem like two pair and flopped straights and flushes dont hold up nearly as often as they do live but I could definitely be skewed from sample size. I really only see 2 bad beats maybe 3 in a 6-hour session live but online it seems like every other hand someone gets stacked by crazy turn/river combo's. I'm up really big on an app that seems to have gone dead called kings club but other than that I'm down slightly on every other site. I have experienced many 5x run ups just to be absolutely cold decked for 7-8 sessions in a row. It seems a decent strategy might be to cash out whenever you hit 4x your bankroll and then redeposit your initial buy in a month or so later after rotating other sites. Of course its not like they cant track your account and "theoretically" run you dead IF that is even a thing. Also I obviously play much larger stakes live so this will create a difference in how/which hands are continued post flop. If I know I only have 2$ behind and theres four people in a pot I'm willing to call a much larger bet (in relation to my stack) online than I would at live when the bet is 10$ as opposed to .75 or so.

Yes there are MANY winning players here on Cardschat. I too am a winning player over the longterm (online & live).

Im ahead for sure.. Im a small stakes player for the most part, and play for fun.. Back in the day at pacific poker (888) and Hollywood poker I had quite a few cashouts with no deposits. Im just getting back into poker recently, and on a $10 deposit have have several more

I have won $0.10, $1, $10, $22 tournament ticket but as I reach $100 mark, even my pocket Aces starts loosing. You need to take time of to win in online poker.

Not all at once, you need to be patient ...

Ive just started and am down 4 dollars for the week lol.

Nobody folds online

I remember my Betonline account got to $1500 and I wanted to withdraw some for Christmas they told me I had to deposit $50 before I could withdraw. Apparently you can’t cash out before your first ever deposit lol

i was when the reward programs at full tilt and pokerstars were good.since rewrd programs change probally not....reward programs made online cash tables profitable …..

I m ahead on Poker Stars. Not much but yes. I need to study more, dedicate myself more to Poker. To start playing higher buy in Tournaments. Bigger risks but bigger payments.

I have to keep it real....down 1500 $

I have been playing live poker for many years and I have done moderately well. In other words, I am ahead playing live poker but nowhere near the level of a grinder that earns a living. I am about 5 to 6 thousand down online over the past 10 years or so.
I played on Carbon Poker in the Merge network and was doing pretty well overall then something changed there, and suddenly I was losing and I am talking about very questionable loses opponents playing any 2 cards and hitting 1 and 2 outers in hands that appeared to be designed as the way the hands were played it was like all the other person had to do was call all the way with nothing just to hit some insane fall of the cards to win the hand. I quit playing at Merge when it seemed that there was open cheating and the site was involved and they were not even trying to hide it anymore. Many people I had played with there for years who were also doing pretty well had the same thing happen. It appeared that they were draining the winnings of players who were ahead and doing so in such a way as to almost guarantee they would quit playing at the site. I am now seeing similar action playing on BOL but I am not sure as we all can have bad runs that can last awhile. I have decided that I will not be making any more deposits to play online which sucks since we can't play live poker anymore and who knows how long it will be until we can do so again or if the venues where we play can weather this pandemic.
So, in short, I am a losing online poker player who has maybe learned that I should wait until Americans can play on reputable sites like PokerStars, or Full Tilt (if they are still considered to be reputable).

I am in the same boat 6k down online but a winning player in live poker. I wish Americans could play on the big sites. Maybe someday.

The best I have done on ACR was a streak of cashing out an average of $400/week for about a year (2010-2011). I won a few thousands $ on several occasions at PS, but so far and since I started playing online (2004), I am definitely down maybe around $12K !

i am very conservative in terms of bankroll. i used to make only one deposit for room and i basically play freerolls and micro games. and yes, i'm ahead i always make money but not high numbers especially nowadays when is not easy to make money in poker rooms like before.

I started with a $ 30.00 deposit and poker stars gave me $10.00,now i've been up and down and even add $100.00 but now i just play with what i've won it's hard to the a price on experience and education, once again it's all fun and that's how i look at it

First time posting! Online poker is tough, Being a US player it has been tough since 2009. Pre 2009 I was doing ok for myself. I started playing back in 05 and won a $5 satilite into a bigger tournament on UB i ended up finishing 6th for a little over 5k. I was just running good I was still very raw and had a lot of learning to do. It took until probably 08 until I had a profitable year. Then 09 happened and I didnt play for years until coming back and playing on Bovada. I am not a huge conspiracy theroist but it seemed everytime I would cash out for 1,500 or so I would go on a huge losing streak. I know there is variance but it seemed fishy.

Luckily I live in PA so I have been able to start playing on PS and so far have been doing well. Online is tough in my opinion because people play any 2 cards so you need to end up using that to your advantage. I have changed my style over the years, I used to be super aggressive, now I play it pretty tight and minimize my all-ins and huge pots until the board has played out. The way the game is played has evolved so much that you need to constantly be studying trends and playing styles. Successful players are the ones that put the time in and study hard. Analizing their own play and figuring out their leaks. One of my big leaks over the years is I would win big in a tournament and take it over to the cash games and play $5/$10 and lose most of it.

All that being said it is very tough to be successful online and making a living off of it is even more difficult. When the poker boom happened in 04-05 there were so many ppl playing online that you could make money because the field was so much weaker. Now the traffic on all sites are so much lower it seems you run into a lot better players. My advice would be control your bankroll dont over extend yourself. Find the buyins you are most comfortable with. Analyze your game.

What percentage of hands are you seeing per tournament? Was it a 6 or 9 person table? If you are over 17% of hands seen and did not make it to the final 4 spots (because if you make it to the final 4 you will obviously see more % of hands). But if you finished outside of the final table and you % is high you are definitaly playing to many hands even if you did have a sick run of good cards.

What percentage of hands are you seeing out of the Big and Small blind? Are you defending your blind to much?

Are you flat calling to much and folding to C bets? How often are you C betting?

What is you ROI? and ITM?
When I do cash I like to track in quarters of where I finished. So if there are 80 places paid did I finish 1-20;21-40;41-60;61-80. If I am finishing to often in the earlier 2 quarters (41-60;61-80) does that mean I am playing just to cash and not to win? am I tightening up to much as that bubble approaches?

Track what tournaments you perform better at. Is it Turbos are you better at deepstacks.

Track time of day as well. I have realized that playing later at night people are looser. I attribute it to possibly people drinking. I personally never play while drinking. If I make a final table ill have a few beers then.

Play one tournament and track things like that and then see where successful players are in some of those same categories.

Yeah I'm ahead mostly because I never deposited any money in. I've been grinding my way up through freerolls. So everything I have is ahead.

I'm in the same boat as you. Live in the last 5 years I'm up about 64k in tournaments and over 39k in cash. Online I'm not even close to a winning player.
