Why do people play online poker?

I found out about poker through a school friend of mines success, before I had never really had any knowledge or even that it was something that was more than just another casino “thing”

Since then I’ve enjoyed the theory and the playing, had marginal success but never involved myself to invest enough of my time to consider becoming professional.

Playing persons that are better and more skilled than you is always a challenge, winning tournaments is a challenge for me, sometimes it’s delightful.

I think online is more comfortable and only online you can play many tables at a time, also live poker requires more skills to play if well

I could never play multi tables haha. I have to focus on one game at a time

because here in brazil there are no places to play at any time so online poker is interesting, you can play at any time you are free

I live in Lancaster PA, there's nothing like the feeling of finally seeing the bright lights of Atlantic City on the horizon. Now I just go to Hollywood Casino in PA because it's a lot closer. I used to go to A.C. a ton in 2003,4, and 5. I rarely get a chance to go to even Hollywood Casino now. Online is the next best thing!!!

I play for fun and like poker plus no where else to play. Live in small town of 250 people have to travel 2 to 3 hours to play at a casino. Just retired and gives me something to do.

Because it's an affordable way. You can play almost anywhere and anytime. For example, in my city, live tournaments are only held between friends, and there are no official poker clubs because they are banned.

I don't like to play with real cards anymore - way to slow. To be dealt 20 hands would take 3 hours. In Zoom you'll have that in 30 minutes.

It is more convenient in many ways, for my part in question time is better because I do not have to be moving from one side to another meal in minutes can have everything ready, bathroom nearby music without headphones, mention those points that my they are important but we keep looking and will appears many more points

Online poker is just a fun time-killing hobby for me. I don't take it too too seriously. Although if I was able to prove to myself that I could win consistently (spoilers: I can't), I would take it a lot more seriously!

I assume for many reason's lack of options like no casino's ect.., convenience of playing from home especially if u have kids ect,,,.much cheaper buy ins.

I'm not great so only play micro's and freeroll's online and can play for weeks depositing $20 on a site & playing in 2-4 mtt's a day and a little bit in micro cash rooms. 3 weeks ago i split like $50 between 3 major u.s sites still have like $40, $15, and $7. So actually up a couple bucks since then playing 4-5 mtt's almost every day between all 3 sites and have had a lot of fun.

However when i go to casino $60 is the cheap mtt and not always available. Even if i sit down at the lowest max cash table I want to buy in max so not automatic short stack, witch is usually around $150-$200. If I have a bad night I can loose a lot more at casino.

I myself prefer live over online any day just don't always have ability or money to go to casino over an hr away. I use online as cheap entertainment really and practice of course.

I play online poker because it's super available and easy to play. You don't really need friends that play poker, cards and chips all you need is a device with internet connection which is AMAZING!
