I really don't think adding emojis to an online game is like killing someone? If you watch streams from GG Poker or PokerStars, you'll see that even pros do it at the High Roller Final Table. So once again this is something, you just have to accept it as part of the game and block it if you don't like it

if a pro player does this, it does not mean that he is an equal person or you do everything like them

A ban on PokerStars for insulting a sexual or racist character, no one will be banned for emoticons, they are introduced for this, to cool the ardor of an opponent or your own ardor.

I think, emoticons were mainly introduced in the hope, recreational players will find them funny and play more. But I do think, it has also had the effect of dampening down the chat. Before you regularly saw someone going crazy in the chat after losing, but now they can instead let out steam by throwing an emoji on the player, who beat them. This actually create a less toxic environment, and it also decrease the amount of work for staff, since they dont need to deal with as many complaints about abusive chat

I think he won't be banned because he uses game tools that poker rooms themselves allow you to use. You need to turn off the tools feature so you don't see players who use it and more and more you won't be able to do anything

Personally I think they're fun.
Whenever I win and get a horseshoe thrown at my avatar, I find it extremely amusing and have to laugh.
I for myself use them excessively only in freerolls though, mostly on players that are AFK and not reacting, when it is their turn. Other players join me sometimes and it becomes somewhat of a friendly atmosphere between them and me, at times we even start engaging in some friendly chatting after that.

On the other hand I do understand that you're bothered by them getting thrown at you, especially when you are losing.
But as others said before: If they seem annoying to you or start interfering with your concentration when playing, simply turn them off.

I'm not in the habit of throwing, they throw at me a few times, but I never cared, I believe it could even be a tactic that will eventually work for someone, so I always left it active, will it one day yield results, no?

The emotional influences the game too much, so the items can really have effects on some opponents, think about it.

Just like today when I played in a freeroll.
Had a pretty big chip count, but was badly beaten by another player to my left twice, both times I had the better starting hand AND was better until the river showed up. Runner-runner twice.

So he became the bigger stack. Okay, no hurt feelings. Pocket Qs, I go all in, he insta-calls with J8 offsuit. He hits nothing, so finally I managed to regain a bunch of the chips I had lost to him before.
Out of nowhere he starts filling the chat with "FU" "FU" "FU", a few times in a row.
That's what pisses me off A LOT more, than if he had thrown something at me in that situation.

In case you wonder how I responded, I gave him a tissue to dry his tears.

The other day I had an unhappy opponent throw the one that looks like poop at me. LOL!! I don't mind the others but that one is disgusting. But it isn't real, and I walked the guy into the trap perfectly.

Exactly. One of the uses of throwables is to try to tilt the opponent. And with this post OP has just informed the entire forum, that this is an effective tool to use against him

I don't pay attention to such things at all. The best solution is to just turn off the chat and focus on the game, it will have a much better effect on your results.

Normally people that throw stuff are the ones to get eliminated first. Emotional isn’t a forte for the game. I keep them on. Kind of helps who’s tilting

Anything that helps tilt people is surely a plus unless you are prone to tilt yourself. I literally only play freerolls online as I prefer to use my bankroll at Dusk til dawn or in Grosvenor casino and I doubt it is used much at higher level online poker but I'll never risk my bankroll online so I'd have to take you guys word for it that its not common higher up the stakes.

I really find them amusing...
Sometimes annoying if in excess, but anything we have the option to remove it so there's nothing to complain about (my thoughts).

They should be annoyed by the bizarre moves that end up working! haha :s

It's easy to disable the throwables. I have them turned off, they don't disturb me while playing.
