I've turned them off on ACR. Nothing warrants toxic behavior in a micro or low stakes game.

I still have them on for pokerstars, because I only play in CardsChat games there, and I've only seen people use them in jest. At least to me there.

Sometimes I use them for fun. I don't mind at all when someone throws something at me, it usually brings a smile to my face, and not in a sarcastic way or like "I got you"... but for real, like kids playing.

Its not against CC rules to use the emoticons provided by poker sites in CC private games. So this is something, you will just need to accept, just as you need to accept it in other games. As others have already said, they can be disabled, if you find, that they distract you

You cant change the fact, most poker sites have chosen to offer this gimmick. So if you dont like it, then use the option to disable it. Problem solved

I dont really think, throwing an emoji in an online game can be compared to killing someone? If you watch streams from GG Poker or PokerStars, you will see, that even pros do it on the final table of highrollers. So once again this is something, you just need to accept as part of the game and block it, if you dislike
