I watched a U.K. T.V. series called late night poker, and got hooked on Texas Hold-em, I used to play a lot of Stud and Draw Poker but the feeling of playing the Cadillac of poker games was electric and exciting, I was immediately hooked.
I love the up and down swings in chip-stacks, and found that if you could not match the bet from an opponent, you could always call all-in and win the pot.
Playing 3 card Brag for many years where the rule was if you could not match the bet, you were forced to fold, meant many times it was the person with the most money that won and not the player with the best hand, which I felt was unfair.
So being able to call the biggest bets with the smallest stack was really great fun, Sure it took a while to get used to the format and game play, and I used to play with play money until I cashed in some free-roll games, but I have never regretted taking it up, and I eventually went on to play live games in pubs and clubs, and finally casinos which I never thought possible, Poker is a really exciting and fun game to play as long as you play within your limits and do not go into debt to play.

I have always played online for bout the last 20 years and even would play on a laptop at work. The new way to do it is on my cellphone because now I can do it anytime, which is dangerous to me and my boss..lol. good luck and hope you crush it.

I was looking for a new game, since casinos were changing the blackjack payouts, and poker on TV looked fun. Tried online (pokerstars and Full Tilt) because I wanted to learn cheaply and it was more convenient than going to a casino.

It was around '99-2000 and we just got internet in the house. I found out you could play chess against people from all over the world. So I thought, "what about poker?" Sure enough, found pokerroom.com. Started playing there in the days of thepinkbunny, and sitting around waiting for the tourney reg to open so you could quickly hit enter and get a seat. Wait too long and it filled up. The next site I played a lot at was True Poker, with the 3d avatars. Made a lot of money there for a time. The good old days.

I started online poker after watching poker on tv. Moneymaker made millions in a tournament and its popularity took off. I stopped playing poker online in 2011.
I am back because I fell down the stairs, and now need surgery on ankle. I am living on the couch with my pc. Perfect timing for online poker.

I first played with play chips. First there were games on the phone. Then I downloaded pokerstars and registered an account, but I didn't know where to find freerolls, so I stopped playing for a very long time. Recently I saw how they stream on GG poker and registered an account there. Since then I have been playing online poker.

It's complex, it's challenging, I'm a problem solver. Poker is also tax free in UK. I got introduced to it at a very early illegal age and I became fascinated by it. I keft it for other passions for a while but I had enough of hard-work-low-pay-no-life kind of lifestyle and the pandemic convinced me to get obsessed over it just one more time.

15 years ago after watching poker tv show, i started on partypoker. Had few very good years there, but only "sick, sad and sorry poker" after that
