Nah, insults rather have the opposite effect on me. If they insult you that means they are likely tilted themself, which means you are doing something well.

Well, tbh, long ago I discovered how to mute chat or certain players. I really dont care about what some have to say during a game. So I press mute player disable chat and game on.

No, oftentimes it's because I played a stupid hand.

No I have not. I often tilt do to my poor play at selecting starting hands. I don't tilt as much as I use to when playing now. Doesn't mean I wouldn't go all in with a hand if I see profit in it though. Other players may think that I'm tilting.

You don't want to be the one who's tilted, you want to be the one doing the tilting.

I think almost every player has had arguments in the chat, even insults. In fact, you should not go on to quarrels, for your game it will only go negative, you can tilt. In any case, you can always turn off the chat.

This happened to me once. Two players in the same table chatted, and they started to call me stupid and fish etc. I started to get a little bit angry and I tried to destroy them, of course, only I destroyed was myself and I lost my stack, goddammit.

I love the psychological side of this game, so I think is there any "pro-tilters" in this forum who could share their tips on how to make players tilt? That would be a fun skill to learn, haha. I have some experience to tilt some loose-aggressive players by trapping them with my premium cards, but I have not found any content about how to do that through the chatbox.

Maybe once or twice..though most of the time i dont even read the chat..having adhd it’s better for me to keep concentrate on the game or I lose my stack playing wrong hands

I don't turn chatbox off, it is a great way to get tells, and give away wrong tells. As Doyle Bronson said, poker is not a game, it is a war, and I use every possible weapon that is available ;)

Which is fine, except it backfired on you in one instance, so you have to be careful how you utilize it. I tend to ignore people's actual chatting and focus on how their play has changed and try to adjust for that.

To be honest Yes, only because I am a moron :icon_scra and allowed someone else's words to effect me. There is no logic behind this only emotion. So pretty dumb really. Especially for a game based on Math.

Never really bothered me live so not sure wtf is up with that - Also depends on the kind of day I have had. generally I hide chat now simply because I play too many tables at a time to bother with it.

Maybe, like you said, it was just one of "those things" where you were triggered by something unrelated to poker and it just spilled out into your game in that instance. I don't think it makes you dumb/stupid or anything like that. You just made a bad decision, whether it was to play that particular day or a specific game, who knows. But you at least are self-aware enough to call yourself out on that, and hopefully you learned from that and haven't made that mistake again.

It's like the old saying - don't get mad......get even.

Ye

haha I'm a 'pro tilter' I guess the biggest thing needed for it is to be relatively easy to tilt yourself, and if you have the right type of tilt personality, the shit talker, then you can tilt whole table with minimal effort.

I always disable chat if there is a way to do it. There's nothing the other players can say that is really relevant to the game.

Unless it's a social freeroll with members I know from a forum or something, then the chat is part of the fun.

In the far past , when I began playing , yes , I paid attention to others' comments in the chatbox , and I might answer to them likewise in serious occasions against me . but the last 4 , maybe 5 years no , i do not pay attention . if they say sth bad , I inform the poker room security , or the Cc moderator if it's said in a CC freeroll or game . Also chat is disabled during game , with the exception sometimes of homegames . Most of the times nothing is said , and if said they want to distract you from your A-game that moment .

I just ignore and advise others not to pay attention, imagine that there is a stupid down in front of you and you will even be amused at his statements

When you don’t answer, these scars are rare but they are possible, I don’t pay attention to the chat, but it’s a good idea, respect to everyone.

Do you play poker or try to chat in a chat? It is best to turn off the chat if you are offended by someone's comments.
If you don’t turn off the chat in principle, then why ask how to react to the chat?
If you are the first to start writing something in the chat, and the person will answer you coolly, that is, they will outplay you in the chat, then you will also be on tilt. Or, the enemy's chat is turned off altogether, and your attempts will be unsuccessful, and you will go to tilt again.
