I have the impression that when you deposit some money on a poker site it seems that you tend to play more loosely.

Because if you lose your balance you simply make another deposit and another again.

But when you win money by playing a freeroll, you value it much more even if it's pennies and you're much more successful with them whether you're playing spin & go or tournaments.

Do you believe this has an impact on your game?

It depends.
Participating in a freeroll can be a smart way to build your bankroll. But when you’re in a cash game, having enough money is crucial. Some people indeed get caught up in the thrill of winning big, and they keep putting in more money and losing it.
However, the key to success is to continually learn and refine your strategy.

I think it impacts my game, this is one of the reason I decided I'm not going to deposit anymore. I've noticed that when I deposit I want to double my money as soon as possible and this makes me lose my money faster.

I try not to have this habit of constantly depositing, if you lose, you stay in the red, if you win money in the freeroll and then lose everything, then you play to zero, but not negative.

I once believed in this too, but this is great stupidity. You won money because... It worked out for you, then you made a cashout, there is no money to play, you make a deposit and it doesn’t work out for you, because... Before this things worked out very well - this is a pattern. And you shouldn’t somehow believe in magic. Play according to your bankroll and do not withdraw more than 30% Good luck at the tables

No, I don't believe it's just that you're probably afraid of losing your money a lot when you deposit money to a poker site and then play very tight, don't be afraid to lose money just play as usual and have fun playing if you even lose it's just not related to your deposit you made

Back in the day when depositing was an actual option in my region, I would deposit for the bonuses included such as freerolls or rake bonus. It was a different time then.

Absolutely, if you don't have the discipline or ability to build a br for yourself and stick to it that doesn't bode well for your long term game plan👍

People strive to play strategy because they want to win. Having real money at the table encourages competition and prevents random play.Real money is a great incentive for the ambitious player to play serious online poker. This is what makes poker not just a fun game, but a game of skill.

Likely if you're always depositing and never withdrawing that mentally has to really suck and be hard. Likely creates an endless tilt loop.

Personally I have no clue and no plan to ever find out. I haven't had to deposit on my main site in 15+ years. I personally prefer my way but too each their own I guess.

Cheers!!!

I think its the opposite . if you pay into your online account the site will favor you for a while ..... when you withdraw they put a 'collar' on you.

If you keep depositing following losses then you could be in a bad situation of chasing the money. I find this can happen easily if you lose a few bad beats in cash games. It’s very easy to then reload a few times to try and get your money back.

In my opinion, I don't think so, I actually think it's important that you make at least one deposit, so you can open more tables because freerolls, in addition to not being available at more times, may not match your availability, there aren't that many on the day, So I think it's cool to play freerolls and also with my bankroll.

I agree. The money won from a freeroll is from a tournament where you beat several players.

Regular deposits can lead to more risky play, as the player is less worried about losing. On the other hand, having a sufficient bankroll allows you to play your best game without being distracted by lack of funds.

In general, I think it all depends on the individual player and his discipline. If a person is prone to gambling and taking excessive risks, regular deposits can be detrimental. But for a prudent player they can be useful to maintain a stable game. The main thing is to evaluate your skills objectively and not to lose control over the bankroll.

I stopped depositing recklessly . I only deposit very rarely . If I have no other way and if it worth's the trouble . In the past they gave you reasons to deposit , a challenge , a free ticket for freerolls , sth else . Nowadays this is less frequent, at least at pokerstars

Definitely. I think it's better to only play freerolls to increase your bankroll balance and then move up the stakes as you become a better player. Poker is a hobby for me, but I don't want to spend money on it or it will become like gambling rather than a game you can make money from.

Maybe at the beginning of the journey, it will have a certain influence.
But after years of playing, that thought will naturally disappear.

It seems to me that this is the situation when you withdraw money, because for a very long time it is difficult to get on the winning streak

Definitely!

5€ for online poker tournament is considered a lot of money but in real life if you grocery shopping or whatever it's not that much so if you start mixing the bankrolls you start to devalue the 5€ tournaments.

However there has been few succesful streaks where I have just spammed deposits and managed to win a lot. I think the trick is to withdraw your poker site balance empty after each win and then make deposit again so you gain that process of paying every time, I think it makes you play better
My favorite deposit strategies:
1. Build bankroll from scratch, trying to hold it and maintain it on the go until you make one big withdrawal.
2. Make deposits just barely covering session of playing, then withdraw any potential winnings immediately. Repeat daily.
