I try to research the site, or at least the best I can before providing any person information.

It feels easier to do if you have a service like Life Lock.

Always a legit concern when sharing your personal information. Of course, if these sites want to stay in operation, its in their best interest to protect player’s info. They can do real damage to their reputation if they don’t take player privacy seriously.

When I was in Tenerife (Spain) I could play pokerstars only on Pokerstars.es - that was the legal position, and of course they needed proof that I owned property there etc. The same applied to 888 and bwin. However, I admit that I always wondered whether that information might be used illegally. Also, I used to top up my accounts, if necessary, via PaySafe, but now that is so complicated I have given that up, and my only real option is to pay by debit card, which so far I have refused to do. So I now pay only small-cost entry tourneys, until I have more money in the account.

After 20 years nah not at all to be honest. In my experience never had issue with any poker site can't say the same for Amazon though.

Only played at the following sites: Pokerstars, UB, Party, 888, Blackchip, Fulltilt, Doyles Room and GG. Main sites were/are Pokerstars, UB and GG(I guess). Site matters some I would never deposit.

I also have a completely separate bank account used ONLY for poker. Soon as a withdraw goes in a move/transfer it too my everyday use account within 20 seconds and leaving bare min in the account to keep it open.

Cheers!!!

it depends on the website that i am playing at . If its a well established , well known like PS or ACR or Bwin or 888poker i have no problem sending them documents , pictures or whatever . But if its an unknown poker or casino room , then i have second thought , i might hesitate . This last happens especially with casino rooms online . There are so many , many of them i hear for the first time , i cannot feel safe to go there , deposit , give them credits card picture (if asked to do so) id picture or my photograph or any document . if it is a shady room , i wont send any documents .

No, it seems to me that it is standard in all places, that's why I'm not worried.

I went through the verification process several times on the sites I play on. This procedure usually takes about one week, sometimes longer, sometimes less. I was verified successfully using my international passport and there were no problems.

I would be lying if I said this wasn't a concern of mine in the past. However, I haven't had any problems. At least so far... Haha!

There's nothing like this. If you want to play on a poker site, you're asked to do just send the relevant documents for verification, they'll quickly check and you'll all be able to play safely and don't worry so much about your documents, they just need it to confirm that you're 18+ and that's it

Of course I have concerns and don't like giving out my personal information
But I also have to say that this is now (almost) irrelevant and the protection of my data cannot be guaranteed anywhere.

My email, insurance and phone provider have already been hacked and my data has been stolen according to the providers (the ones who at least let me know).

In the end they just say sorry or tell them to change their password, what a bad joke.

Yes, it is something that worries me, but I do it on sites that have been operating for a while and have good reviews. Normally, when new poker sites appear, I wait a few months to hear comments from other players.

I've been playing on a App called Poker Hit .. It was advertised on FB as cash games and sit n goes and it is they use the sc coins as cash .. my question is after I cashed out 200$ which I got through my paypal quick .. Im up another 100$ but the app is asking to verify my identity like with my license. It lets me click out of it its not being pushy but I'm afraid if it verified my identity since I'm a Maryland resident it will disable the cash portion on the app which is the only reason I'm playing .. thoughts ? Any anyone know this app .. wild wild fish like weird shit calling with king high and shit . I ran up 5$ into 200$ I ran well and I was only playing about a hour every evening till I cashed out .. In not to sure about the legitness of a cash game poker app

Not really. It’s been an acceptable and trusted way to verify since full tilt and pokerstars were around for us players. Now it’s to withdraw and deposit while confirming location

Have you ever had concerns confirming your identity with your ID card in online poker?

Or does it depend on the website you are playing?
I went through the verification process on absolutely all the sites I play on. Without verification, there may be problems with withdrawing funds, so it is necessary in most cases. To confirm my identity, I provided a scan of my passport and a bank statement.

A very long time ago there was a similar problem at partypoker, and I argued with the support service for several days. In the end, I said, if something doesn’t suit them, I’ll play on PokerStars (where there are no such problems), and forget about the party. And a few hours later I received a letter that I had mysteriously passed verification.:D:LOL::ROFLMAO:

Hi
I went through verification several times, on different sites, and even twice, in 6-7 years. I do not see anything dangerous or suspicious in this. I submitted the documents that were asked of me and passed this check.

When GGPoker started to ask for more than just the ID i got seriously pissed.
I mean why on earth would they need a bank document or an invoice? It makes no sense at all.

I'm very cautious to share my personal docs, so, I only play in the big poker rooms. I've already verified my account in many rooms and so far never had problems. The biggest issue for me is when they ask to take a picture with my ID, but I think I only needed to do this once. I even didn't start to play in a room that I know that ask this type of confirmation.

It really gives a certain amount of concern, especially if the site is not so well known, even on well-known sites I get a little worried because there are hackers trying to break into sites every day.

I worry about this, if the site is not trustworthy, this site will have access to my data and it is not at all comfortable knowing that.
