Hello people, I have a stack of 70usd and I wanted to ask you what I should do, could I go to nl10 with that stack or play tournaments for the value of 5.50 usd? I also thought about the spins of 5 usd but the truth is that I do not take the strategy yet to that type of game

Actually bro, play freerolls, especially the ones sponsored by CardsChat (as u have a better chance of making money against the smaller field), until you build up enough skill and confidence.

Then start playing $0.50 and $1 MTTs or the smallest cash game you can find so you don't go broke.

There’s only a couple posts of good advice , most of these posts are bad. So read up on bankroll management,
And decide from there and if your willing to re deposit or not. And look at your skill level.
And you don’t have to be as anal as the 100 buy ins. If you decent I say a third to half that

Stick with low buy-in MTT, then ezpand your game..

To conserve/build your BR, stick with low-buy-ins and free-rolls. When you find success, you will find the level where you're are consistent, and can build your a BR.

If you want to play $5 tournaments seriously you should at least have a $500 bankroll.

The downswings can be really bad so around 100 buy-ins should be enough to survive the variance.

to play cash game in NL10 with $ 70 it is very little with that bank you can play in NL2 the experts say that you have to have 50 to 100 boxes to start that means that to start in NL10 you would have to have 500 $ which would be 50 boxes And with that $ 70 you get covered 35 boxes to start in NL2 if you like the money game.

My recommendation would be that you play sit & go of 0.50 cents and 1 $ of 45 and 90 players or 180 players so that you continue to strengthen the bank even more.

Clearly you should quit your job and play poker (I kid).

this really depends on your goals. do you want to make some money, do you want to take a shot? Do you want to study and become the best? Do you want to build the bankroll and move up stakes?

Assuming you don't want to spend your BR and build it, I suggest cash or very small field low buyin tournaments to minimize variance.

As others have said, you should do neither of that, if the 70$ is actually a bankroll. If its just a budget for the week or month, then do, whatever you want. If you go in the casino section and put it all on black in a roulette game, you have an 18/37 chance of ending up with 140$.

It is said that about 100 to 1 should be measured as a bankroll. So if you’re cultivating multi-table tournaments, $ 0.50 180 max Sit & Gos are best.
140 out of $ 70 will come out.

Good luck. :)

You should never play such a high buy-in with that bankroll. If you play tournaments, they must be $ 0.50 and $ 1 to be able to face the variance

Poker start

Good morning everyone, what I recommend is that you start playing sit gos, if you are learning to play poker now, at pokerstars there is a $ 0.25 sit go that has a good structure with blinds increases in 15 min, when i started playing poker i played many sit gos like this, they helped me to get a sense of the game.
There are many videos on youtube, about bankroll control is the most important foundation for which you are starting and about the game variance also very important

i think it depends on your skills, if you are not certain of having profit on micro limits than i advice you to enter low buy ins tournaments or play only the 2NL.

I wanna know what OP did. Given we did not hear back, I can assume he did not follow the best advice in this thread. Or perhaps he did, put it all on Red and lost.

Hi all!

Playing 5$ tournaments with a bankroll of 200$ is definitely not a good idea. You have only 40 buy-ins there. A couple of bad sessions will bury your bankroll

For me I would surely start on the micro cash games or you can even enter a $1 tournament.

The hard way or the easy way?

How do you want to learn? The hard way or the easy way. Most of us wind up learning the hard way. I did. What happen was....I was killing it in the $0.10/$.20 games right. What I did was, I started with $50. I used $50 to make another $50. Withdraw that $50 and use the remaining $50 to make another. Withdraw that and so forth and so on. Every 1-3 days I was withdrawing $50's like clockwork.

I had the bright idea that if I would deposit more money and play a bigger table I can get to my next $50 withdraw quicker. So instead of playing SB/BB tables of $0.10/$0.20....I deposited enough money to play $0.50/$1. THOSE TABLES TORE ME TO SHREADS WITHIN THREE DAYS. Lost my whole bankroll!:(

Days later I came across some poker tips and one was....before you venture out and try a bigger table or something new in general, make sure you've mastered what your currently doing. I should've stuck with what worked because it worked. You can call it greed but what I'm trying to say is.....whatever got you to $70usd, I would just keep doing that. Now if that's just a deposit to your bankroll then I would say just do what your good at. If you don't know, I would start at cash games and tournaments but once you find that your good at something....trust me and stick to that for a while.:)

P.S I'm back at $0.10/$0.20 and doing well LOL!

I would ensure that I can go all-in and loose and still be able to play at least 20 times.
