Hi everyone, I recently discovered that one of the casinos where I live offers NLH cash tables. I was playing 4/8 limit hold em and I'm not a limit hold em fan. I prefer tournaments over cash games, but usually play to kill time before start of tournament. I decided to stop playing limit hold em because I only had one profitable session out of four. I've been thinking of trying out the 1/2 live NLH cash tables at another casino I haven't played at yet. I'm currently a losing live poker player, and I don't have a bankroll. I see poker as a hobby and go when I have time and the funds to do so. Are there any live NLH cash table people that have advice?

Hey man. I noticed you prefer tournaments. I'd play some tournaments first before delving into cash games, just because you seem confident. I've had to adjust my live play because of cash players playing in tournaments. Now, this is around my region. These folx are just crazy and want to see a flop regardless of what they have, and if they see the flop you can bet the rest of your stack they want to see the river. I'm just saying I'd play mostly trny's without a roll.
If you've already played in some trny's and have already figured out the room then fk it, go for it. If you're really trying to make some $ then frequent the place after 8 pm or so, after players have had a drink or two in them. That and don't play w/emotion is the best advice I have for not getting multi-stacked in ring-games. GL man. (y)
