Live Big Tourneys
I played at a $500 buy in tourney at Foxwoods with 345 players a few years ago. It was my first big tourney and I was super nervous. But stuck to my game. With a few good breaks, I built my chip stack and got near the bubble. At that point, I decided that I was not playing just to cash, I wanted to make final table. So I turned on the heat. So many players were playing scared that I took a lot of chips and went into the final rounds. I did find myself at the final with the third largest stack. One player was busted out, then I found AK suited. 3 bet comes into my 4 bet. The big stack pushes, I call. He turns up Jacks and busts me out. I felt good about that. A couple years later I played WSOP $1,000 in Vegas, but that time I was stupid. I played the night before and only got 4 hours of sleep before the tourney. I was exhausted and only lasted 5 hours into the tourney. I learned that attitude going into the tourney is a big deal. I look forward to playing another big tourney soon!
