Hi all,

coming from online micro stakes poker NL2 and NL5 and want to give live poker a try.

After all the corona stuff, casinos are allowed to offer poker live again.

But...the casions in my local area changed the blinds. There are no 1€/2€ games anymore, which I wanted to stard.

Instead the minimun now is 2,5€/2,5€ with a minimum buy in of 50€ which are only 20BB.
Coming from online cash games I'm used to 100BB stacks...that would be in this case 250€, but I'm unsure if the 100BB rule appies here, because the SB is the amount as the BB...

Should I go at the table with 500€ to have an similar stack the same size than in my online poker because the SB and the BB are the same?

How do I play games effectively where the SB and the BB are the same amount?

A few tips for live games vs online:

Keep track of pot size, online poker displays all information on your screen, while live it could be a bit more difficult to track.

Get to know the chip color and denominations to get some practice beforehand. Could be useful to visit the casino and watch before you jump into play.

Try to look for player patters, if they talk or they are quite, do they keep doing the same very single hand or after receiving their cards they become silent/talky the contrary of what they usually do? That *could/maybe* be an indication of a strong hand, depending on the player.

IMHO, you should always consider buying in for the maximum allowed at the table, be it 100BB, 150BB or 200BB.

Be sure to have the proper bankroll for that level.

Don't tilt.

Be nice with everyone, nobody likes to play with a guy that takes it too serious and not able to chit chat a bit.

don't get addicted, poker is a game of respect, and limits, don't abuse. ;)

You tend to have a smaller pot in the pre-flop thus making you observe the SPR and the implied odds, for me the biggest difference of game that you will feel when playing these live tables, is that the people tend to be less patient in live, and play much more garbage and don't know how to drop a draw for example, I live in brazil and here in the poker clubs the people go down because of straight draw already, I say this for cash games obviously, in tournaments I had little experience to be able to contribute with you. You can play other strategies besides BSS, MSS, and SSS, I recommend you to take a look, since generally in live games people tend to be more aggressive and generous in the amount of bets.
