Well, let me tell you a funny poker story from a night in Misiones, argentina. We were right in the middle of a card game with a group of friends at my place, and in the midst of the game, something quite unusual happened. It turns out that Ale, one of our friends who is a die-hard River Plate football fan, was feeling a bit nervous that night.

So, when it was his turn to bet, as he checked his cards, he decided to make a rather high bet. The problem was that, as he placed his chips in the center of the table, he made a mistake that left us all in awe. He knocked over his glass of Fernet with Coke, and the drink spilled directly onto the cards and chips. The table turned into a chaos of Fernet and Coke.

You can imagine the scene, all of us trying to salvage our cards and chips while Ale looked visibly overwhelmed by the situation. And amidst the madness, he blurted out a memorable phrase: "This is what happens when you mix poker with Fernet!" Laughter erupted, and although the game was momentarily put on hold, the night continued with a much more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, still infused with that characteristic humor.

Ale's Fernet mishap became a recurring story at our poker gatherings, reminding us that in life and in poker, things don't always go as planned, and the best thing you can do is take it with humor. And boy, did it make us laugh that night!

I suggest the use of sippy cups even when you knock them over they do not ruin a poker game:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Sippy cups are the cups in the USA that we give to children- they have a lid with a small opening that only dribbles out fluid---thought there might be a cultural difference for my joke so explained it

We have a rule, that no drinks are allowed anywhere near the table, It is consider sacrilegious and a sin, to soil the baize. So we always use side tables to stand our drinks on, for this exact reason. There would be "Hell" to pay if someone did this at our Local Pub.

Yes, I know. With a side table, the disaster wouldn't have happened. We were playing on the only table we have, which is the dining table at home, something homemade but with the intention of having a good time

If you have a local bar to play, I understand that there are rules. However, this was at a house, a gathering with friends where we also played a few poker games. But I understand that this rule applies to prevent any mess, and it also applies to those who smoke, with the cigarette butts and ashes they leave behind.
