Winning big money online, just thru freerolls.

I would estimate that a decent player will earn about 5 times as much money per hour grinding 2NL as they will grinding freerolls. Freerolls are a waste of time for any decent player who can afford to deposit $80+ in their account.

There are some players who have one big money from freerolls thats for sure. But to do it consistently is hard as the nature of freerolls is a lot of people dont take them seriously, so alot of lucck is involved to get to the final table

i dont understand what the obsession is with freerolls. If you can pay for an internet connection and a laptop toplay poker and have a house to live in in order to play these games, im sure u have 50$ sitting around somewhere that you could deposit and be properly rolled to play 2NL.

And even if you dont have the 50$,im sure you could save it up if you wanted to.

it depends what you define as a ton of money if you mean a few hundred then sure. a few thousand yeah but it will take you a very long time certainly more hours then it would take to make the same at McDonald's.

I think what they mean is people started with free rolls and took the money they made from free rolls, and turned that into large amounts playing for real money. I fail to see how Chris Ferguson could not make a lot more, I question his game selection.

I understand the mentality I have often due to been autistic gone through bullying in the work place and struggled for money due to employment and etc.

the idea of depositing hundreds or thousands online and losing it when i went through crap to get it is daunting. so many times I deposited £50 and ran it up into the thousands on various sites.

what usually happens is i get to playing higher stakes have an edge make good money go through a horrible luck streak smash stuff up, quit for ages withdraw all the money in protest waste it on crap find not much money anymore, deposit £50 and repeat.

I really need to make a few changes with that game plan.

but anyway yes you can make fortune from nothing, starting with free rolls but to do so at some point your going to have to start building the money made from free rolls in real money games.

taking free rolls alone i doubt anyone can manage anything close to min wage in these long term. unless you count bonus free rolls like get on this leaderboard and be entered into such and such a free roll.

I have built up a small bankroll on 5 different sites without putting a penny in to them. Cardschat has helped along the way! I have just worked my way up to $1-$5 SNG's through the money I earned. The freerolls are just a good starting point to help propel you to the next level of play.

Maybe they won money starting from freerolls. They didn't deposit and won a ton of money. They gained some bankroll through freerolls, then once they have that cash they enter tournaments that cost money and gain money from that. I think it would be very difficult to gain a lot of money just by playing freerolls.

Build your bankroll for the year up to $ 1000 is quite realistic. But do 5k and above it is not only freerolls here will. I personally to receive freerolls for the year 800.

Bro, I think you didn't understand what they said, I at least never heard of ANY ONE that make a lot of money playing ONLY freerolls, I think that what they said was that they never put any money in the account, they STARTED their BR with freerolls, build up, made money and etc ..
And yes, it's possible, not to win money playing freerolls, but start with it, without any investment (of money, you have to invest time, a lot of it) and be successful ..
Every think in life is like that, you can learn and make money without puting money, but you have to put time, effort, etc.

If you do really well in a million dollar freeroll you can make a lot of money. If you finished first in all of them you could amount to $80000, well that's if you do perfect. If you win one or finish really high you can make over $5000.

It not like building your bankroll on freerolls are scams or lies. You can actually build some but not that huge. It can be use as your starting fund and later build up to have a good bankroll.

which is not easy but igther not impossible, Only in this forum do you find an important source of freerolls and surely there are many more.

Very impressive. But lets break it down :

You say in the year of 2014, you won over $800 in freerolls..and that is certainly respectable , but lets do the math.

We will round it up to $1000 to make it simple.

You won $1000 in freeroll money in 12 months time. This is 52 weeks which averages out to be less then $20 per week poker income. I would imagine that you have to at least log in 10 hours a week in these freerolls { and possibly much more time then that } . So if we break it down per hour, you are averaging $2 per hour .

What im talking about is someone that has used nothing but freerolls, to win 10s of thousands or more, in a 12 month period. Some pros claim they have done this , but IMHO , this is largely a exxageration and it would not benefit poker sites to allow such scenarios to take place. Ive been a winning live player my whole life , and yet Ive never won any big money online by directly using freerolls only. Ive tried to grind it out for 12 months or more, and it just seems as though the software on the poker sites, does not wish to reward patient and proper play in freerolls , over the long haul, for me personally.

Now dont get me wrong, Id like to be able to regularly win $1000 per year in online freerolls, but even that isnt a very strong income when you break down all the hours one must log into those freerolls, week after week.

When you put it that way the answer is almost NO.
But that is not what the majority of TV/pro or internet statements are about. What they usually mean is building a reasonable starting bankroll without deposit and then playing and growing that bankroll into thousands. Which has been done many many times.

When you talk about someone that has used nothing but freerolls, to win 10s of thousands or more, in a 12 month period. That is very unusual and only occurs to the one winner of a very rare very special high value freeroll, or by winning tournament tickets from a freeroll and managing to make a big cash in the target tournament.

Expecting to make a fortune playing nothing but freerolls is completely unrealistic.
Starting a bankroll from nothing but freerolls and using that bankroll without any additional deposit to grow in to 10s of thousands by making good use of that bankroll is very achievable and has been proven many times.

the problem is you learn nothing about the games you want to play with your bankroll, so you make a roll, and then just gradually start to lose it and get bored and prefer winning big freeroll tourneys

It is certainly possible to do. Like someone has shown before, from the freerolls this site alone offers, you can will hundreds of dollars. You can turn that into whatever your skill level allows with proper bankroll management.

Poker rooms don't offer good freerolls like before so in this time is more difficult .Maybe only 888 have good freerolls ,best is playing only one in month for level 60,80 and 100
