I was in a starting flight of a $1M GTD trny w/a $400 buy-in. The payouts started at 23 players and there were 24 players left. I look down at AA in mid-pos. I almost folded but I had a dcnt table image and was trying to get a few more chips to make a bag for day 2. I shoved and it folded around to the button who was somewhat of an agg-loose player, plus he had me out chipped. He tanked for about 30 seconds and then decided to call. The blinds folded and we went to the flop. He turned over :ac4::9c4: and the flop was XXC. Then the turn brought a 9 and another 9 on the river.

Bad beat is when you put in your chips heavily as a favorite and you lose.
Set over set is considered cooler, not a bad beat.
Same applies to flush over flush, higher straight over straight.

But when playing, sometimes, splitting the pot feels like a bad beat when u were ahead and board saves ur opponent from losing chips to u.
