How much money did you lose, if any, until you became a winning player?

..im on the forum to further educate myself so that I dont have to be a losing player...
There's more than enough knowledge here to help you become a winning player if you're willing to put the necessary work into your game. How much work this will be and how hard will depend on you. One key factor is how self-disciplined you are. Poker has no shortage of people whose results don't live up to their knowledge levels because they can't resist doing things at the table that they know they shouldn't.

This is very good point and rings true for me unfortunately. I lose control sometimes and do stupid things, keeping me from achieving optimal winnings.

My first deposit was on party poker back in 2002. I put in 50 and i eventually lost it. I bought a couple books on poker, sklansky and harrington, i think. Then I deposited another 200. I got it up to 2800 playing .25-.50 ring games before party poker stopped allowing US players. I then made a 200 deposit in Full Tilt, butI only ever got it up to about 800. I realized i needed to learn more because I was playing stronger players, So i read every book I could. I deposited 200 on pokerstars and got it to 3800 playing MTTs over the course of about 2 years. Then both of those sites stopped allowing US players. NOw I just play micro stake tourneys anfd freerolls. Short answer, i made about 7500 after i lost my initial 50, But i read over 30 books in the last 10 years and at about 15 a book, thats about 600 dollars, lol.
