How to stop being fish?

I've been playing poker for about ten years, only on play money. Not long ago I decided to try for money, every day I made a Deposit, but I could not win anything. Although I considered myself a Pro, it turns out I do not know how to play. I play as a fish, but how to get rid of old habits now??

Hard for us to say where you go wrong without more info.
For now i only can say watch stuff on youtube how others play, read stuff, etc.

Don't deposit, if you loose your many. Each poker room gives you a chance to play a lot of freeroll. So you can profit without deposits! Good luck!

Poker is a game where in my eyes you cant without patience.
If you dont have patience, then im sorry to say, but i dont think poker is a game for you, unless you work on your self to learn how to be patienced.

I have been playing for six years, a year later I started playing for real money .. I don't consider myself a fish, but when I get to the downstreak I can't stop..in this game, you need not only knowledge about poker, there is still need to be able to slow down in time or go to the limits below ..something similar to slot machines, because online poker is still a casino!)

I agree with you,but without poker I can not imagine my life) I just have not played tournaments before,it's a shame when you sit for five hours, and in my time zone tournaments at night are held. And here you stick, and before your final table AA move and change. Delirium. You lose all mood and it seems already when not to pass to the final

You're right. And I think that all as are specifically set against me.

First, stop thinking you are one. Then study a lot.

learn to think in a new way in the old place. like the rules of the game are always the same, but the flow of thoughts should move ... to comprehend your game ... to understand what poker is for you ... the problem is ... that units can think
... it's hard to even find your exploiting....in fact, playing at the limit of his abilities is very difficult ... you get tired quickly ... to think what he thinks about what I think ..... or I know that he will use my vulnerabilities and catch it on this

Someone will say that poker is good luck. NO, this is a whole system of looks, this is a battle of characters, how many times I saw someone put me down morally, or I start to get angry at the dirty game and start to destroy psychologically myself.

Too little information.
Read the small green book.
Read poker school articles PS
Meet with poker mathematics.
All with what they start.

Play more freerolls - It gives you expierence without risk. But I really don't understand what you mean. If you get tired - play more until you get used to it. If you are insecure how you played a hand - upload here and discuss. If tourney ends late - choose another tournys.

Strategy

This is a very good question. First, don't think of yourself as a fish. It's all about strategy. Position-raise or fold (no call), aggressive action from the right position (Mostly CO or btn) and bet only when folded to while in late position with a raise to the blinds. When folded to in late position, raise with cards with less than or equal to 40% or less domination% (wizard of odds). A quick lookup table in Excel that allows you to enter your hole card hand (using "s" for suited and "o" for unsuited) and it gives you back quickly this % of your specific hole cards will help. Also, unless you have the top 10% rank or you are extremely short-stacked, never call an all-in. It is a huge temptation when you have cards adding to 20 or more and you have the option of calling. Save it for the next hand, unless you are less than 10X BB, it's a good thing not to be tempted.
As far as books, Silberstang wrote a book playing poker for the serious player. He broke down hole cards into categories and went on to say when to bet those cats. Hellmuth is a great read for aggressive strategy. The old Full Tilt Gang put together a huge volume on many strategies and data percentages in a book called full tilt poker Guide. If you play on intertops, they have data tables for each user to utilize that shows in colors what hands you played (totals) and how many you won. That's your real data, the hands you are good at and the ones you are not.
Now that's some loaded strategy info for you. I hope it helps. I utilize all the above at one time for each specific hole card set using Excel and it has improved my game drastically. I hope this helps.

How to not be a fish

Read some good online books, live poker and online are completley different. Watch alot of videos on youtube or players playing will help your game alot. Get a HUD heads up display and that will keep track of other players info and percentages. Most of all FOLD, try to not play alot of hands and try tro play good hands in position. (near the button or on the button). Try these and should sharpen your game alot.:wavey:

Ten years? Apparently you only played for fun. The main thing is to have the desire to grow and learn. Many people think that poker is easy, and that they all know in this game, to win money. But this is not so. Poker develops every day. And you, too, must evolve along with it. See how to playing good players. Or find yourself a good trainer.

I can play basketball everyday of my life and it is not gonna get me to the NBA. The same with poker. You can play every day of your life. You just need to decide if it is worth the time and money you are putting into it. Poker is your hobby and will stay that way. When poker pays your bills, then you can say you are a pro.

I think you skipped a step. If I were you I would have gone from play money to freerolls and just then to play bigger buyin tournaments.
You can learn a lot from forum chats like CardsChat, youtube videos, books, and poker articles.
Patience is a crucial thing in poker. You should work on that. So is bankroll management.
Hope to continue seeing you around and good luck at the tables!

Hi, first it is different to play with fun money than with real money, since players have more concentration and skills, also when you play for real money there is pressure, I have on this page a short time just days, I recommend you read all the post especially referring to tournaments and hands, I in a few days here just reading, still contributing little since I do not consider myself with sufficient knowledge to be able to make important contributions I have learned a lot here, my advice for you is patience and try to use this page as much as you can and you will see how your game improves quickly. Greetings

Why would anyone want to stop being a fish? Oh, wait, you're one of those, "I want to actually win money" kind of people aren't you?

Well, why do these same people play poker? That would earn. I combine business with pleasure, for me poker is interesting in principle, that's probably why I've been playing on conditional chips for so many years. Why not try to make money on it? I have a big family, but there is no way to provide it in full, now I'm on maternity leave, and I can't work, why not make money on poker? I don't see anything wrong with that.

Read a poker book, or watch some training videos. I remember one of the famous poker players saying "If you stay at the table long enough, eventually the chips will come your way". Good luck.
