Hi Members,

Could some one help me with this scenario? Who wins this round and why because I am confused. Your help would be appreciated

Scenario -

Player 1 - 10 10 in hand
Player 2 - A 3 in hand

Flop - A 10 A 3 8

Who should win this full house?

The highest three cards of the full house determine the winner. In this case three aces over tens , beats 3 tens over aces.

As others have said, having the highest 3 of a kind takes precedence over having the highest 2 of a kind in a full house. So on a board on A T A 3 8 the best possible hands are AA, AT, A8, A3, TT, 88, 33 in that order. And since people love to play AX, its important to understand, that the value of having a set goes down on a board with two aces.

Often there is a game situation when one combination is inferior to another. When two players at the same gaming table form a Full, seniority is determined by three. The winner is the player whose combination has a stronger three of a kind. For example, you have collected a set of three tens and two kings, and your opponent has three nines and two aces. You will win, according to the principle of seniority of the three.

It's simple . The one with the most cards out of 3 wins. In a full house of 2 , the rest of the cards by seniority do not mean anything . Only if the plauers 3 cards are the same.

Player 2 wins because he has 3 aces and player 1 has three tens. By the way, a similar situation was in the poker scene of the movie "Casino Royale" about James Bond.

In casino royale I just remember the final hand where Bond won with a straight flush. But i do remember there were lots of players in the hand to the end so I guess maybe they had differents full houses

A3 wins as Aces full of 3's is a bigger full house than Tens full of Aces.

You already have your answer and here is another thing you might be interested in..a counterfeited poker hand. Basically, your low winning pair becomes garbage when two higher pairs are in the flop. By knowing your outs and reading players just right, you have the opportunity to make a bundle here when something like this happens..again, you must understand your "outs" and "negative outs." Poker Stove is a useful piece of free software.

If neither had a full house, the 3 aces would beat the 3 tens..the 'extra' pair that completes the full houses doesn't change anything... :)

Lesson is do not overvalue a small set. If you bet and get raised, just call unless the other player has proven to go nuts with TP good kicker types of hands. You cannot make a FH without the board pairing. Therefore your small set could easily be beaten by a luckbox holding a bigger FH. In this case, an A plus a 10, 8, or 3.

Here's an example of a counterfeited hand which I just had..not that it happens a lot.;)
As you can see, this was preflop. I've also added the odds of winning the hand..they were just barely in my favour but that's always what you want..to have that edge. So, know your hand rankings backwards, forwards and upside-down..in case you're in a live game and you're looking at the flop upside-down. Then practice getting a read on a player for their card range..then practice learning the value of the first two cards you have..to make a honey-pot for yourself or go in for a stone-cold bluff representing something and "assuming" your opponent can calculate their outs with what they have..which means you should know your outs cold..as per my prior post. Good luck.
