Hi all, please tell me, what daes it mean - "fish"? It is good or bed?
A fish is a bad player. If the people at your table are fish, then that's good. If you are called a fish, then that's bad.

what are live cards? thanks!
Live cards are cards that can help your hand improve.

You: 10J vs Opp: AK. You have 2 live cards; you can hit a 10 or J to improve your hand.

You: KQ vs Opp: AK. You have 1 live card; you can only hit the Q to improve since hitting the K pairs both of you, but your opponent has a better kicker.

You: KJ vs Opp: QQ:. You have 1 live card since you need to pair a K to improve.

Freezeout

A freezeout is a form of tournament, where a player is out when you lose all your chips or when all the prize goes to the first place.

what is a straddle, and how does the player doing it helps him?

Straddle is a blind bet,it can put a player located on UTG.This is twice the Big Blind.
As a result, the player decides last on the preflop game.

Hope you understand my english :)

I'd add "Highjack" for newbies as well. That is the position 1 right of the cutoff (or 2 right of the button).

On-line Abbreviations

I was reading another post regarding "NH" and "TY" in the chat box while playing on-line poker, and it got me thinking what other chat-box abbreviations are used. Here are a few that I know of, please add to the list if you know of any others. (I tried doing a search and did not find anything. Hope this is the correct section for this post)

nh = nice hand
ty = thank you
t = thanks
yw = your welcome
nf = nice fold
nb = nice bet

Have at it.......
