it doesn't matter how good your skills are. something always depends on luck. but if you only rely on your luck then you will not have any luck in both of them in the long run because you cannot do without the skills, regardless of whether you are playing a tournament or at the cash game tables

I think cash game depends a lot more on skill than luck. A good player, in a heads up session, will always win more than the opponent if he plays a worse player, because when you lose your entire stack, you simply go and reload, the game continues and with a large number of hands , the best player will earn more. In a tournament, that you will be in situations of variance many times, no matter how much you always make the best play, it will still depend on luck, and once you are unlucky you will be out.

Tournament poker is more of a gamble than cash games. Not only are there constraints from increasing blinds, but you also cannot choose who you are playing against. Anybody who plays poker seriously knows that most of the success comes from playing against weaker opponents. If you cannot choose who you play against, the impact of variance is much much greater and the results much more swing-y.

Seems like there is way more variance in tournaments than cash but I could be wrong about that...

Hello.
I can't play cash games. I always lose in them, at the same time when thanks to tournaments my bankroll only grows. Of course, skills and abilities are needed in both tournaments and cash games, but for me personally, cash games are very difficult.

If you're talking about poker then it's not a game of chance, it's a game of strategy, study and luck too.
Now if you talk about betting games like lotteries, horses, casinos and others like that, I think they are not games of chance, but betting just that.
The main thing is that you have the head to know what you're getting into so you don't become a crazy addict.
Everything coherently and wisely.

Is cash game a gambling or game of skill like tournament +

Cash games are a game of gambling and also utilize the same skill as tournaments as being aggressive or passive. The difference in cash once you enough money you can leave cash out before variance hit cards start flowing downward you lose it all. Tournaments you can't cash until the bubble burst and Antes play a factor relative to your stack start declining. Even if you playing tight at some point you must be very aggressive or your out tournament sometimes no cash losing the buy-in.:deal:

Select a good hand to play is more important in cash game, & don't try to limp, it's a trouble way.

Cash tables have less variance and require more complicated skills. You have to bet all 4 streets because stacks are always deep. Biggest mistakes are on the turn and river because bets are bigger.

Biggest mistakes in tournaments are preflop and flop because you have a short stack and are deciding to commit. But there's more variance in tournaments.

That's pretty much it in my opinion.

It's all a gamble when you have unknown variables to account for and you're putting money on the line. The skill comes in hand selection, bet sizing, reading opponents and playing their hands against them.

We all fail in that sense, it is very difficult to play if you expect a good hand, the blinds take money away from you and when that dream hand comes to you, everyone folds, and whenever I double, they end up winning, everything is so confusing and annoying.

Cash game requires much more skill than tournaments. Maybe that's why I like more to play tournaments :D
