If instead, you are a serious recreational player who has a source of income that could be used to replenish your bankroll, then you don't need to be so conservative. In this case, that is, if you're on the less conservative side, you can get away with 50 buy-ins.

200 bucks is enough to never lose at this limit, but in the future, and pass it, already due to experience)

In my case, I'd rather have $100 in my Bankroll to play a $2.50 buy-in, it hurts less if I lose.
I use the following criteria from 2% to 10% of my Bankroll

Good afternoon. You need to have 50-80 buyins in your account, but if you ask this question, can you start with freerolls?

depending on how you play if you play well above average, I think $50-100 will be enough for you to play at these limits, but if you are an average player you need to have at least $250

Poker Pro Nathan Williams has talked about this particular subject and he trains players in micro stakes poker.

Let me talk about my leveling up in my bankroll for late registration system.
Based on what Nathan teaches I play in $1.65 buy ins or less late registration, so for me to level up I need to have 100 buy ins.
I need $165.00 to level up.

With your $2.50 sit n gos you want $250.00 to play comfortable.

In my late registration system the most games I've lost in a row is 2.

If $2.5 SnGs are the lowest limit offered on the site, it dont make much sense to talk about a bankroll for playing this limit. It make more sense to talk about, how much bankroll you need to move up to the NEXT limit, which might be for instance $5. If for instance you go for a 50 BI system, then you need $250 to play $5 SnGs, and with anything less than this you play $2.5 SnGs and top up the account if needed.

Stay within your comfort level, play at stakes where the amount of money you lose will not effect your decision making or poker strategy. This way you are free to experiment, take risks which will help to develop your game.

At a comfort level 100 entries would be logical and advisable.
In a slightly more risky price, minimum 50 entries.
And if you believe too much in your abilities 25 innings is risky but not too crazy.
Cheers:):):):giggle::giggle::giggle:

Depends on the number of participants.
If it is a typical 180man $2.50 multitable sng - then the variance is high and you need more than you expect, because of the top heavy payouts.
Maybe in this case 150 buy ins would be good.
In the case of a one table SNG (=STT) you need 50 - 70 buyins in my opinion.
GL at the tables!

Are there still sites, who have those? pokerstars killed them off more than a year ago and only offer "on demand" games now. Those by the way are dying as well at least the $5 games. Sometimes they dont even reach 18 players, before late reg closes :)

Make an objective assessment of the current performance of your game and set small but realistic initial goals and outline a plan to achieve them. You can try to go ahead and hope that you are the most special in the world, but most likely, in such a scenario, you will simply act naively and arrogantly, and the movement along the path and its results will not be very encouraging. Many factors and circumstances depend on the financial situation of a particular player, which is known only to him. And remember that you should have a "airbag" long, at least for 3 months, in case of various failures in the game.

I would state 50 buyins should be enough for single table SnGs if you are a good grasp on SnGs strategy. I would recommend 100 BIs if it is three or more table SnGs.

I think for such tournaments your bankroll should be at least 50 times bigger. That is, your bankroll should be at least 125 dollars.

How much do I need to have a bankroll available for the sit'n go of 2.50?
I believe that your bankroll should be at least 100 dollars, and better 200 dollars. That should be enough.

Why do you think this is?

Is the fear of these being too filled with Bots part of it?

I pretty much avoid all SNGs nowadays, but figured I'd ask (because I'm curious). :)
