Basically it's the money that would have gone on movies or eating out in the last year so nobody really cares.
It helps that the people in my life who do have a problem with poker don't seem to have any compunction with blowing wads of cash at Amazon for crap they don't need. Pointing that out always seems to help.
As long as you're not losing the rent money and the bills all get paid it should be all good.
At home I play alone and I don't want anyone to play. Poker is time consuming. And the family just complains that I spend a lot of time playing games. Probably, there are a lot of such participants.
My family has a positive attitude towards the game of poker. They support me when I get upset about moving, and they are proud of me when I win. They say that if my hobby is profitable, then this is a wonderful hobby))
I guess it's the same as for most players... when I win they ar BIG supporters but when I lose not so much, but in general I have to say they are positive about it.
It makes it easier for the other people to accept it when they have a good understanding of the game and the poker world as well
