Well cash games are way more profitable, but if your a newer player I think tournaments are better practice, and don't eat up your bankroll as fast cause the chips are credit not actual money like cash games. Also there is freeroll tournaments that cost you nothing to play for practice no such thing for cash games.
I'm still a noob and prefer tounaments. The few times I played cash games I had a undesirable experience. Rarely flopped anything and the few times I chased to the river I lost. All my hard earned tourney money was gone and had to start from scratch again. Now everytime I start play a cash game, it seems tainted by those first experiences and makes it unenjoyable.
I prefer cash games myself because the money is there and whenever i feel like it i can leave. In tournaments, you just cant walk and leave, you have to stay til you're knocked out. You also have to be in a certain place to get money, in cash you can play one hand and be up couple hundred and leave....but i just love poker in general I'll play both all day long if my wife would let me lol
This is the number one reason that I could never play MTTs full time. I want to be able to make plans with friends which aren't dependent on how deep I run in a tournament. Also, even more annoying is when you fire up 10 of them, bust quick in 9 but go deep in one. You know full well that you are going to sit there for another 4 hours just to lose a flip and go out in 12th!
Depends how much time i got for play, not always u can parcipate for couple hours in an tournament .I preffer jackpot or spin & go more then cash games u can win there much more sometimes .
Home game is the best. Fixed buy in, with or without rebuys. Good banter and a prize at the end. Just can't get enough of them so resort to online. STT is my fav.
I've been only playing tournaments, as far as real money goes. Mostly freerolls. For the cash games, I've only played with play money. I like the tournaments more, it's so rewarding when you get in higher position or in the money, the whole play is a lot more fun in my opinion.
I always prefer tournaments because all start the same, with the plumb number of chips . Ie that suicide player , all in any round, will be eliminated quickly , getting the best players in good positions.
