It's like eating a side dish with dessert, or combining classic sex with anal
in the end, a bad idea
You're talking some bullshit, dude! Are you drugged or what? See a doctor, you need it!(n)

I usually play maximum 2 tables at the same time. More tables are desctracting my game and it's too annoying for me. I can't focus on the game and can't study players. So max 2 tables. No cash and tournament at the same time.

It would be a hard juggling act, but if you are up for it then Why not? Personally I have tried multi tabling 9 player games with Tournaments and always start to have trouble when I get down to the last three players on some of the tables.
The blinds come around much quicker and there is a lot more thought processing when you are in the money.

I think it can be done but in my case I don't like it, they are two very different game rhythms

Playing both cash games and tournaments simultaneously can have its advantages and disadvantages. Here are some factors to consider when deciding whether it's a good idea:

Advantages:

  1. Variety and Skill Development: Playing both cash games and tournaments allows you to experience different formats and develop a broader range of skills. Cash games tend to focus more on deep-stack strategy and long-term decision-making, while tournaments emphasize short-term decisions, ICM considerations, and adapting to changing stack sizes.
  2. Bankroll Management: By diversifying your poker activities, you can potentially mitigate risk and manage your bankroll more effectively. If you experience a downswing in one format, you may still be able to generate profits or mitigate losses in the other.
  3. Different Player Pools: Cash games and tournaments often attract different types of players. By playing both, you gain exposure to different opponents with varied playing styles, strategies, and skill levels. This can enhance your ability to adapt and exploit different player types.
  4. Schedule Flexibility: Cash games and tournaments have different time commitments. Cash games offer more flexibility, as you can join or leave a table at any time. Tournaments have set schedules and can require longer sessions. Playing both allows you to choose the format that suits your schedule and availability.
Disadvantages:

  1. Mental and Emotional Strain: Playing both cash games and tournaments simultaneously can be mentally and emotionally demanding. Each format requires a different mindset and decision-making approach. Balancing the two effectively while maintaining focus and avoiding burnout can be challenging.
  2. Strategy Confusion: Cash games and tournaments have distinct strategic nuances. Switching between the two in real-time can lead to strategy confusion, where you apply the wrong concepts or make suboptimal decisions. This is especially true if you are relatively new to poker or not yet proficient in both formats.
  3. Bankroll Considerations: If you spread your bankroll too thin across cash games and tournaments, you may not have sufficient funds to handle the variance and downswings in either format. It's important to have a solid bankroll management plan in place and ensure you allocate adequate resources to each format.
  4. Time and Focus: Playing both cash games and tournaments simultaneously requires effective time management and focus. Trying to juggle both formats can lead to divided attention and potentially impact your performance in either or both games.
In conclusion, playing both cash games and tournaments simultaneously can be a viable option if you have the skill, experience, and mental fortitude to handle the challenges of each format. It's important to assess your goals, bankroll, and personal preferences to determine whether the benefits outweigh the potential drawbacks. Additionally, it's advisable to start gradually and build proficiency in one format before branching out into the other.

I think yes, if there are few tables open, because when there are a lot of them, it’s better to play something one-game or MTT or cash

It depends on everyone's ability to pay attention to what they are doing at the game table...you can play, the result matters!

You can have power, but that depends on each player, not all of them have the same capacity.

You can play 50 tournaments and 50 cash games at the same time . If you can handle it and not make any mistakes. I can’t play cash and tournament at the same time because it’s two deferent strategy and I will make errors. But if you practice playing multiple tables you can get use to it. Good luck have fun. Thank you 🙏 for your question 🙋‍♀️ .

I did this several times. I played four tables of cash games and two tournaments, and I can say that it was not comfortable for me. I confused tournaments with cash games several times and lost important hands because of it, so I never do that anymore.

Cash and tournaments can be played at the same time. But for me they are two different modalities and I really do not recommend it. I tried it a few times and it is preferable to spend time on one in particular. I personally play mtt but from time to time I play cash tables, but when I play them I only play cash, I don't mix.

yes its actually a good thing when you have a healthy bankroll just so the session doesn't feel so boring, perhaps find the balance by choosing the right level off BB and play MTTS at the same time!

Hello people!! I wanted to know if you can combine Cash and Tournaments (I know you must use different strategies for both) or do you always have to choose a modality?
I would like to know if someone tried it or if someone does it how difficult it is.
Thank you so much!!
Sure. I'll usually play 2 different types of games, for instance a nice NLHE trny at one table and a PLO8 ring-game at another. I started this way back at Doyle's Room trying to get a poker chip set from another forum's gift-promo points race. Got it too. :)

No. I play mostly tournaments. If I play cash then with very, very small BB. I don't have very much experiences in cash games.

If it turns out well, then why not combine these disciplines. I note that it is possible and even recommended for a cash player to periodically play tournaments, but an MTT player should try a cash game with great care.

Hello, as you say, different strategies would be used, rank tables and obviously the structure changes, power can also depend on the temperance of each person, in my case I do not believe power and I feel that it would make me make bad decisions, confusing myself in the heat of the tables. but you can try it at low levels to see if it works or not

Hello friend, you can play a tournament and a cash game at the same time, but I do not recommend it, because you will see that the players and the situations at the tables are different, as well as the strategies, you will tend to make more mistakes if you are just starting to play two different modalities at the same time, you can try to play two tournaments at the same time or also in cash two tables at the same time. Greetings

Using different game strategies at the same time, for cash games and for tournaments, will be quite difficult, but I think it is possible. Although, in my opinion, it will be more effective to concentrate all attention on only one thing.

I don't particularly like playing cash, but it's like you said, they are different strategies. If you can keep up with both, you can go ahead.
But the ideal is always to specialize in one type of game, and I mean game in terms of variation and format.
