Failure to understand the differences between sports and
gambling results in the banning of poker in some countries. Sport is playing a tournament where you pay an entry fee, like in many other disciplines, but playing for money is pure gambling. In Poland, due to the government's misunderstanding, poker was included in the Gambling Act, but you can organize a tournament. Only there is idiocy in this act that causes double or literally triple taxation, because 1. the organizer pays tax on income as a company, 2. the organizer is obliged to pay 25% tax on the tournament pool, 3. winnings/each winner pays 25% tax on winning. For this reason, organizing tournaments in Poland is unprofitable. But I can play normally because due to the defects of the law they have no right to collect more than 10% tax on winnings, and since the servers are located abroad, the fact that I play on them is not subject to Polish law. And such legal crap is still relevant despite lobbying to regulate it in a civilized way.
