Honestly, most dealers tend to be some of the worst players. There's always the exception to the rule.
I have a lot of friends who are dealers/former dealers. They're all terrible at poker. I think sometimes when you watch something difficult such as poker or sports all the time, it looks easier than it really is. Then when you go do it, you find out it's more difficult than you thought.
I watch golf on TV all the time and it doesn't look difficult at all. But I'm pretty much the worst golfer you'll ever meet. It's almost embarrassing how bad I am.
