Hi everyone. In this topic I wanted to to know Pro your work and as you combine game in poker with work.I have for example seasonal work, spring, summer, autumn I work almost around the clock in the fields and therefore do not have enough time or energy for poker. To play poker it turns out only in the winter.

Right now I am playing spin and goes because they are fast, and I play at least 6 per day. Either I play them at lunch time, or when I am back in home after work. And in weekends I play a little bit more.

Well, I'm a writer, which can be very depressing and lonely at times, and I'm constantly struggling to devote the majority of my time to write while avoiding distractions, like online poker. The best thing about online poker is that it's made me completely adverse to playing at a casino, which I haven't done in well over a year. But when I play a tournament that, say, lasts four or five hours, even if I do well, I feel like I've made a very poor choice in terms of my investment of time.

Why do you say that playing online is that it makes you adverse the playing in a casino?

I would imagine (and it's only because I've been in this boat myself) that doing work which can be lonely and depressing would mean that live is actually by far the better option... you get all the benefits of being social, being in the company of humans, and getting some fresh life energy in the mix to perk you up! It's like going to a party, but where the main focus is a game that you enjoy and are good at :)

I agree with you on general in tournaments, they can be very heart breaking and for this reason I limit my exposure to them to once every 3 months or so, whereas cash I'm happy to go grind every weekend (and since switching to live cash from online I gotta say I feel a whole lot happier in general! :girlshit:

The winter season is indeed the best time for poker, and one of the old wsop pros called it 'the poker season'. It's cold out, dark out, not much to do, and poker gives us an excuse to be around people, in a warm and active (and exciting environment!) a perfect storm :)

I find in the summer time I'd rather be out enjoying the weather and keep my poker sessions short, or keep them to the evenings so I don't feel like I'm missing out on good sunlight.

As to mixing my job with poker since I now focus a ton on running my online training business and social media, I basically devote monday-thursday to working on my business, and then on the weekends I take a trip out to the casino to play live poker.

This also ensures that whatever studying I do during the week gets integrated and understood on the table, and makes putting in 30-60 minutes a day on study feel really worth it since I see the immediate payoff of it when I go play on the weekends.

FWIW, when I'm playing tho, I'm just playing. I don't do any session or hand review until the next week when I'm back into business mode so I can keep my work and play separate.

Hope this insight helps you some with your poker journey!!!!

I work at home, usually 3-5 hours a day. So I always have enough time to play poker.

Since I joined the freeroll club, I have not missed a daily pokerstars freeroll. Unfortunately, five of the seven days of the week, I am working while it’s on. I have flexible lunch break, so I usually try to have it around when the tournament starts, and if I’m still playing when lunch is over, then I combine the two, which does slow down my work, but that’s how much I love to play

I get up at 5 am going to work home I get only at 11 PM if I'm lucky, if after that I still sit down for a couple of hours in poker then I strongly doubt that I will get up the next day)))
If you want to play poker, earn poker, then you need to change jobs.

I play normal job from 9 am to 6 pm so i like to play in the evening after work for few hours. Everyone's job and schedule are different so the simple answer is to play when you have enough free time and are in good condition. If poker is hobby for you and your job is seasonal there is nothing wrong to play mainly in the winter. I also play rarely in the summer as there are so much other activities and hobbies to practice in this season compared with winter.

My working schedule changes all the time so I play mostly when I can sit back and relax during the weekend and sometime over week in evening!

I just quit my job and turned pro lol. Seriously though, this isn't for everyone and it was also a lot easier when I did it 10+ years ago.

These days I also write about poker a lot and make videos on YouTube and for training sites.

The real key though is that everything can be done from my laptop whether I am playing poker, writing about poker, making videos etc. This makes it easy and allows me to work from anywhere in the world.

I would never give up my job for poker.

First, the reserve for the future is not the fact that it is good, that is, it is possible in the future and you can continue to earn poker. But no one can give an exact answer to this. There are a lot of factors that will not depend on you at all.
Second, in my opinion, it is generally work in the poker industry. Are you sure that you are ready to grind 8 hours a day and work on the game and you will be interested to continue to do it for a long time? I very strongly doubt, that right off the bat at all in principle can be answer this question or understand about fix precisely goes speech. So I'm sure that in the vast majority of cases, a person will not be ready.
And the third is my personal attitude. If now I had the opportunity to quit poker and exchange the knowledge and experience gained in poker for knowledge and experience in another specialty, I would not hesitate to change.

I do not work .. I am a student and the hours that the study allows me to try to play poker and watch videos to be able to work in my game .. there are times that I have bad days and that makes me rethink myself if I am doing things well .. I am very happy to know that here there are very good players from which one is also willing to learn

My work schedule changes all the time, so game mainly when can I sit and relax during the weekend regardless of the season.!!

Change in a very positive way!. The possibility of having weapons to control your emotions and to know how it works Our head before complicated situations make the job.!!!

How to tournament player I think it is even more important this section, due to huge variance of the mode that you away on many occasions of reality, to frustrate your objectives.

I play poker in the evenings after my main job. I try to play poker every day for 2-3 hours, but not always enough time. Also sometimes I take breaks for several days.
