Confirmed Scandinavian and he probably plays in a black metal band - it's obvious from the name, they done love naming themselves after people and places from Tolkien.

In fact, it's probably this guy:

we cannot be certain

Whoever it is he has a lot of talent and should not be taken lightly i can promise that much. I have watched hand histories of hundreds of hands between isildur1 and durrrr and it seems to me that isildur1 is actually winning the match so far. I will keep up with this interesting duel between these two great cardplayers and see how it goes, variance is such a big factor that we will have to wait a while before we see who is actually the better player.

he's a major Mafia man from sicilly, aged 54 with 9 kids and is a made man.
He's had extensive plastic surgery to make him drastically younger, and has training from Ivey and a Zen Buddhist*

*some, maybe all, of this might not be true

What are the chances he's doing something like that former Absolute Poker employee who cracked the security system and could see his opponent's hole cards?

Lost a large pot to Patrik Antonius recently. It is an interesting hand because they both have top two pair. Antonius had a gutshot and nut flush draw. Isildur1 needed a king, jack or ten to make broadway (king of hearts and jack of hearts would have given Antonius the flush).

Its kind of obvious that he is either Viktor Blom, aka Blom90, Jonas Danielsson, aka Nebuchad, or gulkines (real name unknown).
All these three players have already earn millions at the highest non-American online cash game tables.

Gulkines, aka Robert Flink.
And to those who say this thing has never happened before, well it has, lots of times.
'Icallsowhat' for instance, crushed everyone last year before busting out.

The main difference between Isildur1 and the rest of the crowd is how much of a loss potential he/she is willing to accept.

You know for sure it's Gulkines? Hey you're from Linkoping? Aren't there a sick amount of great players from that area?

its good that FT goes easy with them over the rake, they need the money, dont they these pros...............

Pretty sure Full Tilt is more interested in their reputation than the rake. They could just about make a mastercard commercial out of it:

Heads-up rake at nosebleed stakes? 50c per hand. Being known as the place for nosebleed action and watching the pros play online? Priceless.

Anywho, I'm dismayed nobody has taken my suggestion that it's obviously a Swedish black metal musician seriously. The evidence is overwhelming people!*

*except for the bit where he's actually got money. That suggests maybe it's not the case.

isildur1 is a mystery. the first time i saw his name playing on full tilt i thought it would be another nick of tom dwan => isilDURRR^^

I thought the same exact thing the first time I saw him play. Then I saw him playing against Durrrr and found out it wasn't him.

What are some reasons you guys think that Isildur1 won't tell us who he is?

What are some reasons you guys think that Isildur1 won't tell us who he is?

- He doesn't want people bugging him for money
- He wants to retain anonymity when he plays live
- He wants to retain relative anonymity when he plays on other sites
- He doesn't want players to be able to transfer reads they've got on him from other sites to his current games
- He's too busy playing to care
- Watching internet kids lose their minds trying to work out who he is brings the lulz

These are all good reasons, last one is definitely the best one though IMO.
