I suppose that when you can generate a regular income that allows you to have a good standard of living, and you don't need to work on something else to support yourself. At least that's how I would define it.

When poker becomes the only source of income, I think you can call yourself a PRO. And if the question is whether I consider myself a PRO, of course not.
Same feelings, same thoughts :(

To become a pro you don't need to make poker your main income, you need to go further and succeed earning titles.

When your earnings reach goals higher than your average life, and you manage to live from poker, it pays all your bills.

For me, I see that professionalism in poker means getting enough monthly profits to dispense with the job.

When you can consistently sustain living on 25% of your winnings.

50% of winnings go back into your bankroll.
20-25% for taxes
25% for actual living expenses.

i.e. - if you live off $80,000 a year; to sustain your current lifestyle, you should be winnings/cashing $320,000 / year consistently.

I am not a professional player, for me a professional player is like an athlete who devotes most of his time to his work, who is recognized by the community and who has many sporting achievements.

The day you get to have a consistent profitability month after month... and for that you must sustain that profitability for at least a year... then make the assessments and if you managed to have a sustained profitability and that also allows you to live off poker comfortably... then you could consider yourself a poker pro

I think of poker as a cyclical business like having a tent on the beach that only gives good results in the summer, but if you adjust your budget to live the other seasons with the summer earnings, I think it is viable, here in brazil there are many people who live like this with seasonal businesses, you need to have a lot of administrative skill for that, at the moment my poker winnings can pay for food and the phone bill , I want to improve these earnings soon so I can travel to Europe

I understand that a professional player is when he starts to have enough achievements to be recognized as a good player and to support himself financially.

A professional in poker is someone who lives from this and does not depend on anything else, I do not strive for this, there is not only poker in life. Although poker is a full-fledged source of part of my income for me, maybe from poker it is already a professional...

Its when you have a sea of beginners coming to your casino with sunglasses on playing $1/2 live or I guess it would now be people talking about GTO or whatever the latest get rich quick poker fad there is while still playing $1/2 and not knowing basic poker fundamentals or can't spot who they're playing.

As Dimidrol2 stated that most folks don't want the insecuity of poker nor do they want to grind it when they could be with their family and friends.

At what time of your career you become Poker pro? is it about your poker earnings, the stakes you play or just a title?
You are the pro poker player when poker is your main job
