WHAT IS YOUR STRATEGY??

Hi, I'm mongani7,
Curious to know how people think when they play on line opposed to how you play in a live game?well what i mean is you can't look the player down and they move you around so much that you really can't keep track of whos who so what do you do.what is your stratagy?personaly I find it pretty easy to get a chip stack in the fist three rounds .Iplay an average of 20 to thirty tournies or more in a week so in the freerolls i tried something new it has worked for me i call just about every hand before the flop.sounds crazy huh. my poker buddies thought so until one day i played with him here had a 24K chip stack when the chip stask average was 2 k. the way i see it 15 can get you a 1000 you hit the flop it's good if you don't you loose 15 that's my stratagy. whats yours. by the way i have come in 1st,7th,21stwith over 3,000 players i've made it to top 20 with 2000 players half a dozon times so it,s works for me .so again what is your Strategy??

I'd could only honestly answer 2/8 choices.

1. Play tight-because thats how i play
2. Gut feeling-its not all the time, but if im in a hard spot, ill have to go with my gut feeling tells me.

as for the others, i couldnt answer because it would all depend on what position im in, how the other players play, what was the action before me, what will the action be like after me, etc. i might as just well check all of the boxes except play loose...

In a live game I definitely play alot more tight, but Im sure thats easily said for most of us. Also, its alot easier to catch reads from faces rather than some image or avatar, I find that 95% of the people playing online are schmucks and dont have a clue what theyre doing

I like to play tight most of the time but sometimes you got to go with your gut feeling and watch the other players on the table you might not be able to look them in the eye but alot of players are still readable.

i find the hardest thing for me in the pokerstars freerolls is the first hour. after that if ive made it, it's a lot more fun and predictable. i might try out mongani's strategy next time, we shall see.

Pretty much tight aggressive. I change my style depending on who I am playing against and if I know my opponents and the size of my stack...For me the key to being a successful no limit holdem player is knowing when to change gears. I am very aware of my position and try to always be aware of my pot odds.

I have to say that i play loose on-line when it comes to the freerolls or $1 tourneys coz it seems if your playing to tight in them you will always come up against the smucks with the 7 2 offsuits or some piece of crap hand that busts your A K or pocket pair. In real play or a $5+ tourney or sit'n'go on-line you can play alittle tight, your usually up against a more quality player (usually).

How i play

I usually play pretty tight, in the bigger tournamnets like top 8 hands only pockets Aces to Sevens, AK, AQ, being the top 8. It's any easy way to play, but when there are alot of people sitting and and the blinds get a little bigger i play some more hands. With my buddies i usually go in on gut feelings.

It depends on who I'm playing against. If my opponents are more tight, I'm more loose, if my opponents are more loose, I'm more tight. And now then you just have to go on a gut feeling. I hardly ever play connectors, though I'll usually play anyway A-x suited and sometimes K-x suited. Now all of you know how I play for when you come up against me in one of our free rolls.

I play tight for the most part untill the table realizes im playing and start laying down hands to me all the time then I loosen up and change the play but it all depends on the table.

i usually play the same in a live game as in a online game. I try to play pretty tight and then go at it when i get a big hand.

you will be surprised be carefull pay the minimum to see flop you will make out though any two cards can win.

HOW DO I PLAY

GOTTA MIX IT BACK AND FORTH. ESPECIALLY IF YOU PLAY LIVE WITH THE SAME PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME. ACTUALLY, IT NEEDS TO BE DONE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOUR LIVE OR ON LINE. I LIKE TO PLAY TIGHT 75 - 80% OF THE TIME AND LOOSE THE REST. BUT THAT'S JUST ME EVERYONE DOES IT DIFFERENT I JUST FEEL THIS WORKS BEST FOR ME.

My strategy is to remember that I am playing online poker when I am playing online. It is so different than in real life. I have never seen so many str8 flushes and four of a kinds in my life. My strategy in real life poker is to remember I am not playing online and to quit making those stupid faces when I get a bad hand. I don't have tells anymore I wear a sign.

Play tight early on. Wait till the table thins and get aggressive. I like to establish that I'm playing a straight up game then when the field narrows and players get more conservative it becomes much easier to bluff and win the higher blinds. IMHO

This is an example of why i play the way i do in the beginning of a tournement that is why i get a big chip stack in the first 3 rounds of a tournement.keep playing tight webber thanks
