I recall, when I first started playing poker (After local bar games at the Red-Hot Poker Tour In Ottawa Ontario), my very first online game was at Poker-Stars, and the level of the game was a 6 max and the buy-in (This Is the funny part), was $500, yup for my very first game of poker, I started at a $500 USD level (Like a bamboon boss:p:eek:), needless to say I didn't last long, but I do recall my very first hand, and the action of the hand. I had pocket 5s on the btn (Don't really recall the blinds at that stage, but they were low), and someone opened, and I 3bet and they 4bet (And yup being a noob), and thinking (5s were the nuts:p), I 5bet A.I and that person snapped me so fast and they showed AA but I did end up cracking It and taking that player out. After that the table was making fun of me and saying "How couldn't I have known they had AA or how I can 5bet A.I with 5s" and comments like that, to which I "Called them all on and told them I was winning that game", and generally speaking noob stuff. Long story short I didn't last long enough, heck I didn't even make ITM as I was the 5th player out out 5 players left).

So lets hear your memorable moments from your first game of poker ever, and how did you do, and If It can really top me playing $500 STTs like the bamboon boss that I was back than:eek:

That is one funny story "500 buy in, like a boss"

It was a fiver friendly game with my ex girlfriend and a couple of friends, my first poker game was pokerstars in 2006, I don't remember the buy in but I remember you got 10 dollars for £6.50, it's now £8 for 10 dollars. I watched my first poker game on tv around the same time and it was called poker after dark.

Girlfriend's brother got me into the game. I think I was watching him play in Absolute Poker satellite to the $100k and he won a ticket. He played the $100k and I saw how much money he could've won and I think that's when I was interested so we started playing $5 or $10 live SNGs.

When I started poker, I did not even know anything about how to play, so I did not want to put my money in the game, at that time there were many freegames in PS, like those 100k free, every day.
So I had to earn a little money in these freegames, right after I learned to play I ventured more, always using the most free games.

My first game

My first game was in mansion poker, lego to win a couple of dollars in a free, enter the casino and win $ 300, with that among the cash tables of nl100, jaa jaaaa, do not take long to lose my bank, of course not then I had no idea of anything in poker, about 2 weeks I had started playing. After that I passed titan and full tilt, room that I liked a lot. Pokerstars did not please me.

The now defunked "Red Light Poker"; they use to run $500.00 freerolls 2 -3 times a week with less than 75 people registering. Had a great bankroll until Black Friday...never got to make the final withdrawal before they went under :-(

Online, I always play freeroll, I did not have and I do not have the same courage as you ($). Lol. But in live, I remember very well that the first time, I played a cash game with $ 50 buy. I knew little about poker (I still know little) but luck was with me. I left everyone at the table angry, for coming out of it with $ 850 in which they thought I would clean the fish.

Haha.. nice... 1st tho. Why would you buy into a 500$ buy in on your 1st game online? Accident? For online that's a LOT. Had to be a big guarantee right? 50,000$ maybe? But mine was a freeroll I'm sure. But my 1st cash buy in was the 2.20 180 man on #Pokerstars. Playing from U.S. I played on #Fulltilt and #Pokerstars. Also continued to play those all the time. I liked em. $2.20 for a chance to win 97$ I think was up top. Nice post tho. Have fun. Good luck at the tables. #Scott41984 #Toledo419

My first game was a freeroll to gain experience. However, I've learned to play poker myself. I have more to learn and I'm going to buy a poker book. I was very safe to play in, but at the first break I had a good stack I spent 10000 and continued to play. I took my TV and watched the europort give poker and watch watching watch. I played one player playing Benjamin Spindler was called and I decided to change the style and I played aggressively like him. On the second holiday I was already with 100k stack which is very good for a debutant. I did not know how to Playing at high levels and dropping off just before 3 vacation at 200-300 position

I guess that the library at university doesn't count, so the first game was limit 7 card stud at The Four Queens in Las Vegas. The buy-in was about $200 and the stakes were $1/2/4. I played so tight that when I finally got a great hand, everybody folded to me. I got so frustrated playing poker that I left with most of my money and quickly donated it to the blackjack table at the Horseshoe.
