Yeah I voted down all the stupid legalize pot things, there were like 6 of em! I couldn't down-vote the kids-with-cancer one!
FYPyou realize that legalizing pot in any country would do wonders for their economy:
1. Tourism
2. Employment
3. Textile production
4. Lowering of taxes on gasoline (taxes would come from a whole new revenue source)
5. You would knock the bottom out of the black market and minimize crime
6. paper pulp made from hemp plant yeilds more per hectare than trees and is easier to replace.
7. increased grocery store sales due to munchies
8. one less thing to look for in drug tests
But seriously I'm curious why you're against the legalization of marijuana. I hope since that's the case that you're not 'ok' with alcohol being legal?
I completely agree with ya there. I just don't understand why a country that could stand to make that much money from legalizing it not?
But to not rant, voted for poker. Cool site btw
:deal: yes i voted but i think the pres. has more 2 worry about than this..

The President's biggest concern is the economy. Bailouts and tax refunds are part of the economic plan for Obama but the money has to come from somewhere. Legalizing online games of skill gives an immediate revenue stream to draw from.
Who's to say that the US Gvt doesnt outline something like:
US Online Poker Gaming License Application - $25million
Yearly Online License Fee - $5 million
Tax 1% of all online player withdrawals
Now lets say you can apply that to 5 online poker sites. You're looking at a ton of potential money here. The negative would certainly be increased rake from the sites but I am hoping that lower rake becomes a competitive selling point, but I am getting ahead of myself. Anyways, online poker DOES have to do with what the Obama team immediately has to solve, it's a possible major contributor to funds needed to help the economy.
I assume you mean this will be additional to the players normal income tax on winnings??

Exactly. Not only are they are they missing out on making money from it, but they're actually spending money in the failure known as the 'war on drugs'.
Bottom line, if its good enough to be used as TREATMENT, how can it be illegal?
Just google it. Enter a city and "zip code". I'm from Santa Monica ldoIm from england , make me up a fake zip code I dont know how they are set out but I will vote if somebody could tell me
