Holy baby jebus! That ND seems absolutely rabid. I won't even get into replying to her frenzy. Yet I'm sure she'll go on after this. Jeez... it makes me tired just to read it.

I am a poker player and have been playing online poker for about four years. The last two years half-time. But not very successfully though.
I've been having art art as a hobby for all my life but it's just recently I've decided to pursue it more.

I found that poker-art was something that seems to be lacking so I did my best to come up with these paintings.
Personally I'd rather have ladies on my walls than dogs, but that's up to everyone's own taste.

Each painting has taken over 1.5 months of full-time work, which is ridiculously long. But I'm learning as I go along.

I'm appreciative of all (friendly) advice I have been given.

Most of all... it's heartwarming to see DiveBitch and the others who've been sticking up for me.
Thanks guys, that keeps me going! :)

Rabid, venomous, bilious, it's all good. ;) Ladies over dogs, but I've always thought the jack of spades was kind of a hunk. :p Really, that's about the worst treatment I've seen here to a newcomer with good intentions. You owe no one an apology or even any explanation.

So how's the art business? It's been over 2 weeks, your work should be hanging on the walls of every casino in America by now. ;) Good luck, and don't be a stranger around here.

Merely as I've nothing better to do and I'm very reluctant to believe someone would come to a poker forum to ask about how to sell art I google quoted the post.

http://www.pokerforumlive.com/aggregator/sources/2
http://www.pokerhelper.com/vb/f1/poker-artworks-238/

The existence of identical copied and pasted posts make me think spam.
tbh with you as its indirectly poker related I don't mind being spammed with this, I'd personally love to buy some poker art, its merely the sneakiness of it which irritated me.

Thanks for joining ART OF DANIEL. It's definitely spam imo.
He joined multiple forums on the same day and posted the same exact info word for word, only to have no posts thereafter.
BTW, a true artist wouldn't plaster their mediocre website on their art to sell expensive prints, not to mention he/she had already signed the work in the first place.

Ah whoops someone beat me to it:p

So what if he posted it at 100 places? Answer me this... What is sneaky about it????? He made no pretense whatsoever as to the nature of his post. We all knew he was a brand new face (so to speak) here. Why on earth should he not copy and paste? What's different to be said? To me, at worst, this is smart marketing to an interested audience. To make a big deal about a one-time post is extremely petty in a 'get a life' kinda way. 'Spam', sheesh.

Howdy' fellows!

I was wondering if you guys have any hints for a starving artist on how to sell them?

Would greatly appreciate all help!

I can't believe am wasting one of my 7 a day post limit on this.

Artists=advise
Poker players= Target Audience

The OP switched these two things round under the pretence of asking advise as I'm pretty sure making an account on here to advertise your website is violating the forum rules.

Again I like the art so don't give a shit. I was merely giving my opinion which if its not matching up with DiveBitch's seems to generate insulting replies from him.
Anyway unlike yourself I do have a life so don't expect another reply on this topic because as stated I do not care and do not intend to spend anymore time getting in heated debates with you over whether this is spam lol (and you have the audacity to tell me to get a life:rolleyes:)

He isn't asking us for drawing tips and I doubt he intends to sell his paintings to other artists. He is asking where poker players feel the market for his work is.

It seems to me he knows where the market for his work is or he would be posting in the "Marketing Art" forums instead of directly to the consumer. ;)

Hi Artfdaniel
I think you should try to start from creating themes for cms's like wordprees, and these way your name will get around.

dam talk about some heated debating going on here!

controversy at its best and i love it!

i also love your painting or lithoshits or whatever they are technically called daniel, seriously you have some immense talent and i agree wholeheartedly on everything that divebitch has said and stood up for you about. she is completely right about EVERYthing!

who cares if hes tryin to sell as this would be his target audience, he didn go about it in any sort of malice way at all and quite frankly it would seem as if the guy really wanted an honest opinion as to how to sell these things. what you could do like some have stated is obviously ebay, another option is to get onto craigs list, another type of ebay site but newer. and i really like the idea of contacting casinos, if i had the cash bro i would buy em, they are flippin georgeous paintings, my fav personally is the Q of spades.

Stop hatin daniel and show some respect for a fellow CCer ppl.

 This is too funny. Too-too funny.

The hypocrisy abounds. I'm evil for giving a new member less than the kid glove treatment, but the person who accuses me of being so vicious and worse can then slam a different new member for disagreeing with her. That's okay??? Too freakin' funny man.

Then there's the part where she contradicts herself by clearly describing what the guy did as being spam but to defend him as being a non-spammer?

Pure comedy. Pure freakin' comedy.

I'm chalking up the part where I was explaining some of the technical stuff to Divebitch but it was interpreted as drawing lessons for artofdaniel as being some sort of situation where the intent was lost in translation. I was just trying to make Db see where I was coming from. Only, she doesn't want to see it. That's fine, as I simply can't see things from her perspective. That's unusual for me as I usually see both sides of the coin. Not this time though.

Too funny. Where's the petard? Who hid it? You know, the one Divebitch built.

"Judge not lest ye be judged" and various assorted other cliches and proverbs. Peace - not.

Welcome. Did you not notice that he joined around the same time you did and only has 3 posts to show for it? I'm not so sure he is a CCer.

Admittedly, I'm not one of the most active members, but I am active by golly. You are as well. I consider you to be a fellow CCer. I'll agree to disagree with you. But that's as far as I'll go.

I don't hate daniel the person. Just his ways. Sort of a hate the sin and not the sinner/hate the game and not the player sort of thing.

LOL no need for thanks. The way I figure it, a post a day or two equals active. It might not be active enough to receive all the perks, but it does show an interest in the community.

Don't worry about freerolls, be in it for the discussion and lessons to receive and share. The freerolls just come in due time.
