If you dedicate a lot of time to improve your skill, have a good bankroll management and discipline in order to 1) study regularly and do all the boring job like reviewing and analysing hands of your own or your opposition 2) make right choices while playing, you can't afford goofy hands if you wanna go professional and 3) I think the most important and maybe the hardest part - follow bankroll management that you have set for yourself no matter how it will seem boring for you at times or how you may feel that you are able and deserve to play higher.
So yeah, discipline and studying and you can make it. But as you will have to treat poker as a job, I don't think it will be that fun as you may think because I highly doubt you treated poker seriously for these five years.
Anyways, good luck
