So after playing 4 tournaments yesterday I at least cashed in the CC Ultimatebet tournament, so only ended up about $9 or $10 down for the day. What is more important is discovering what I can and can not handle.
I played in a tournament with DJ on Sunday that was a .10 buy-in with .50 rebuys. I only spent $1.10 and cashed almost $5 - but it wasn't worth my time. I don't care to play for 3 hours to win a few dollars.
On the other end of the spectrum a few weeks ago I won a ticket to a $100k guaranteed on
bodog worth $109. I decided to play it only to discover that particular week it was a $200k guaranteed with at $225m buy-in. So I added the money and played anyway. I did not cash and did not like putting that much money into a tournament. Luckily I won another ticket and enough to replace my loss. I used $30+3 of that yesterday in a 4K guaranteed. I lasted a while but again did not cash and just wasn't happy with that at all.
The tournament that was my best shot yesterday was the $2 re-buy at Ultimatebet. I was doing great in it when I lost half of my chips getting my KK beat by 77. (Money in pre-flop), Had I won that hand I would have been in first place and certainly guaranteed to get to final table at that point. It is the first time I ever felt it in my gut when I lost a poker hand. Physically felt it lol. I finished that tournament just out of the money. I had 10 times the BB and pushed with A7 in early position and lost. My husband said it was a bad play and that hurt my feelings lol. I then decided I am too dumb for poker and was depressed all night. He spent the rest of the night trying to convince me how great I am. He was just being nice.
So today I might try the cash tables. I need to decide whether to play $10NL or $25NL. My
bankroll is somewhere around $1400. And where to play. I have money at
pokerstars, Fulltilt, UB, Bodog and PDC. I am thinking about playing 2 tables at 2 different sites today and then the other 2 sites tomorrow.
