Rascism and tribalism will always exist due to the 100s of different nationalities, customs and religions and lack of empathy or knowedge and understanding from narrow minded people too.

DNA crosses man made borders though every human on the planet is related to each other if go back far enough which makes all the wars and hate and racism in the world ridiculous all through history,
But this is the dark side of human nature which filters down from governments going to war dehumanising other people to the average Joe on the street.
No matter what some keyboard warrior said to me while playing poker would not bother me as have heard some ridiculous things over the years and am well desensitised now.:hahaha:

Psychiatrist Eric Berne wrote a book "Games people play". I think that this book has to be included in the school program of each school at this planet.

In his book he represents all human transactions as games. Games that have winners and losers and games with zero result.

IF we'll look at the racism problem from such point of view, then we can see that racism is a game, the same game like school bullying... the one who thinks that he's bigger/stronger/smarter or better in any other way is earning points of fear and respect from the society by bullying the other member of the game(the victim).

SO

The victim of the game has several simple choices = 1) to quit playing the game 2) to accept the rules and a) to lose or b) to beat his opponent.

If "the victim" is going to try and beat his opponent this will create so called "Karpman triangle" Victim - Rescuer - Persecutor, and if Victim will do things correctly then they will change places and Persecutor will become a Victim. Anyway if there is no hate involved in such game then it's good for both sides, it will make the weak stronger and the strong smarter or more delicate.

These are the rules of human-to-human interactions and racism is a usual thing because we're different and it creates a game with those who differ.

We can't ignore the fact that all humans are different, and when you're helping a disabled man to walk upstairs this can also be act of "racism", cause you accept that he's not like you.

We can't ignore the fact that not all of us can do self surgery or repair the car, we have to find someone who is different, and be his victim for some time to solve the problem.

But we also can't ignore the fact that psychologically fans of Manchester United who hate fans of Liverpool are not different from racists. They have same brain reactions when they see opponents flags like some racist has.

So the racism in general is not a bad thing, it's a competition like any other... what's bad in racism, is the element of hate. Hate is distructive element in any area where it's involved. If we can exclude hate from racism - it would be a constructive competition and win-win game for all participants.

But

Is it possible?

Hate is such a strong feeling and it created so many useful things together with so many distructions...
Like some person said "If you know who your enemy is, then your day has sense and the structure"

So... why not destroy the racism, together with other problems in the society, like homophobia or homosupport or school shootings or wars, by not supporting it? Not discussing it, not mentioning it in the news. The more people talk about out - the more they add fuel to the fire of the problem, and this problem becomes a usual thing. This technology is called Overton windows. Forbidden things - a complete "tabu", using Overton Windows becomes a usual thing for the society. How it works? Last week it was forbidden, several days ago, we've started talking about it, yesterday we've tried it, today we're thinking of positive sides, tomorrow we'll think about laws that will make it legal, and next week we'll be promoting it in mass media... Drugs, Sex, Weapons - such things have not been promoted so widely in the past, and we lived a better life. But today, children can learn how to kill and how to make drugs from the movies!! Same story with the racism... Such things are profitable only for those who control the society, the more they split the society into smaller particles - the better and easier it would be for them to control these particles. I remember that it was discussed for several days in the news media when one fan throwed a banana on the football field, can we ask why it was so important for the society to know such things? Hype about the problem, helps the problem to survive... positive or negative hype = it doesn't matter, it works like advertising... if you will think of the problem like it's bad thing, then your neighbour will accept it as something positive. SO it's better to not talk about some problems at all.

and

It's always better to focus on healthy competition and win-win games.

So... "What do YOU PEOPLE think?" about Racism in Poker?

I mean have you felt discriminated against when Playing Poker either online or in live games?

I Know I have...

This Thread is for those who want to release a little tension by airing when they feel they were causally discriminated against while going to Poker Venues or maybe the way they've been treated online (Poker related).

Example: Live poker event wont let me wear my "burka" but every one has hoodies... I'm last to have my bar order taken, Every time "Whats that about?"...

For me one thing that annoys me is Every time I Need to show ID, My British Passport say's "Place of Birth Kitwe" and then the most dumbest question comes next "Are you British?" lol ummm its a British Passport so I'd guest Yes I am!!

Please don't let this thread turn into a mad crazy argument that only Trillian can save me from...

This thread ties into another thread previously live on CardsChat...

Daniel has some interesting things to say about Racism in Poker too... https://fullcontactpoker.com/how-racist-are-you/

Hello

Racism is not acceptable in any form or place, not poker not anywhere.

I have seen players rant about opponents for how they play.

Thats fine I guess, letting out your frustration out.

But when that rant goes personal, there comes the problem.

This I have seen online and in live games too.

The reciever takes it in their stride, ignoring the ranter and moves on, which is the best thing to do.

Hi good day.
Fortunately I have not felt discriminated against in live poker, on the contrary they made me feel very good.
I went as a tourist to another country (Peru) and at all times the casino authorities were very kind to me.
Of course I want to return to that casino in Peru (Majestic).
About racism in poker, I think it's unfortunate, but reality shows me that even today, there is still rasismo.
And I visualize this in attitudes from other players, for example when some players are more distant towards new players. Or when I see that someone makes fun of the mistakes of a player with less experience in live poker.
Personally I have not felt discriminated against but yes, cheated in live poker. This happened in a casino in my country (argentina).
They charged me a 50% commission for playing cash games in the casino, this seemed crazy to me.
In short, there are always aspects that we would like to see better, in the poker environment.
Greetings.
