Hey guys,
I know that a specific psychological approach is needed to be successful in poker. I was wondering if anyone has any input or articles they can share on the psychological approach to the game? And i dont mean how to beat opponents , i`m talking about what do you need to do for yourself to play your best game? How does one gain confidence in his decision making, how does one not play money scared and stuff like that. I`m a very conservative type of person and i have trouble playing when it comes to bigger money. I start to play scared money and dont make the same decisions and tighten up a lot more then if i was playing the game i usually play everyday on PS. Example i went to casino last week and i played so tight and dumb i did not expect myself to do so bad... And its not like the players outplayed me.. I just wasnt myself. But i question what if ill never be good enough to play poker on a higher level where all the money is being made? Problem is i`m also a bit of a shy person so in live games this also cripples my game.. Instead of focusing on the game my shyness kills my decision making.. Does everyone go through this stage?meaning you have to play in your buy in range for a while to be confident and successful? I know when i started to play with my friends home games first 10 games i did really bad after that i've been in the money(heads up) or winner EVERYTIME, (they are actually getting annoyed at me.. lol) It would be great to hear your opinion. Thanks!
