so i was playing today 2 tourneys at the same time and at one moment both of my tourneys started having the same cards for me and the table. with a difference of only 1 card out of 5 on the table.. funny thing i figure its just one of those probablility things, but next hang again i get the same cards and the table gets the same cards also with a difference of only 1 card out of five on the table.. how is that possible that out of 7 cards total 6 of them are the same on two different tables at the same time 2 times in the row??? can anybody explain?

extreme luck.....wether the hands won or not is what could cause a conspiracy but how could they benefit from you having the same cards in a tournament....maybe a cash game?

How about a hand history so we can even make remote sense of what you are saying?

I would be more upset if things like this didn't happen... Its all about statistics ...

If this happened to me, I'd immediately think that there might be an issue with the poker client not displaying the right cards. If the HH matched up, then I'd chaulk it up to a fluke.

With BBBBBillions of hands dealt, not millions, BILLIONS, this is nothing to worry about. It's just a curiosity and you should marvel that you were there to witness a statistical oddity.

Now, should you notice this going on for an extended period of time, as in weeks, then start detailing it cause you're on to the motherload!

with the amount of hands the average player plays, I don't think this would be that big a rarity.

if you consider that you see maybe (60 an Hr, 5 Hrs a day, 7days a week) roughly 2,100 hands a week then the odds aren't that small that you would see this sort of anomaly, I know i've saw similar things a few times.

for example, playing 2 sites, got identical hole cards at the same time, and the board only differed in 1 card as well, Kinda weirded me out for a bit but not for long

I have also seen weird similarities while playing two tables on different sites. Seems freaky, but will happen sometimes if you play a lot.

Just coincidence.

Yes very true, way too many people take these occurences to mean something, when they have merely seen a flash in a huge statistical pan (an anomaly)...

Discussions like this always remind me of this quote from the beautifully brilliant Richard Feynman.

You know, the most amazing thing happened to me tonight. I was coming
here, on the way to the lecture, and I came in through the parking lot.
And you won't believe what happened. I saw a car with the license plate
ARW 357. Can you imagine? Of all the millions of license plates in the
state, what was the chance that I would see that particular one tonight?
Amazing!
