My life goals for 2012 is to try to get a good job and move out of this apartment into a house where all my kids can have their own room. I've had a lot of struggles in the past couple years, that's why I haven't been around Cardschat or poker. I think things are finally going to settle out for me and 2012 will be a great year for me and my family!
As far as poker goes, I'd like to try to play a few live tournaments and schedule a few home games for family and friends.
One thing's for sure, it's cool that even though I had a lot of problems recently, when I'm ready to come back, Cardschat is here with open arms.
I'd just like to say thanks for being a great community.
Chris.

Coming back to poker after a more than a year off.

Get back into CG and grind back up to 25NL.
get back to the wsop (leading in a league right now with a $1500 buy-in as top prize).

Life goals? Just staying happy at work (harder than it seems), dropping 20 pounds and getting some cardio back.

Real poker goals put on hold until regulations are put in force. Alternate thoughts is to be number one at SBR poker. Money not as big but extremely steady.

For Fun I set a goal of 50,000 "toothpicks" (Thats my official term) when I started playing in 2005. I am a small time grinder. This is a combination between live and Atlantic City. The goal was also to still have it all when I got there. I am 80.04% there so far. Next live game is Borgata Spring Open HORSE in three weeks, maybe we can make a dent hehe.
My life goal is to better today then I was yesterday.

people have some very achievable goals ITT, monthly summaries and updates will be needed in order for people to complete these goals. Therefore I shall be making a monthly summary thread each month for you all to post in and keep you motivated!

Stop transferring away my bankroll.

Withdraw more of my bankroll & move it around a bit so I'm rolled on 4 - 5 sites to play $10-$30 MTT's on all of them, along with taking shots in Sun.Majors 1 or 2x/mth.
Set days aside from work, to actually schedule days to play online (instead of the other way around).

Form a skype group for MTT players (or get in someone else's, preferably one that has ~5 people... not 50)

I'd be interested in this but I've never used skype yet. Is it expensive?

Ever since this thread has been put up I have been giving this some thought and my goals arent quite as lofty as some. I feel I have made a decision and Im gonna stick to it. AND THAT IS.. quit reading forums, WHY?? Yall get me to jaked up to want to play and DAMNIT here is my poker goals as this is the year IM GETTING MY GAME IN SHAPE.

For over a year I have been just playing, learning and whatnot but not really doing what needs to be done. SO either I continue down that path and this post will mean nothing or IT WILL.

NOW REMEMBER I have only $120 of money invested (so I have never put any big money or lost big money I just kind of float) but I have been able to play a lot and make some money but IM THINKING BIGGER with US legalization coming I want to be ready, I feel that once it is legal in the US, cash game will be the games that will make me flourish but gotta a lot to work to do

2012 GOALS

Working on multitabling, gonna start with 2. (I gotta figure out how yall can manage so many tables

CASH ONLY except cc and forum games.

Really focus on how to beat the rake and HOW WHERe TO START, I dunno. I know one time live i threw in way too much money in a pot with no betters post flop and the dude beside just shook his head in disbelief as I didnt know why and now im starting to think rake was involved. This Im gonna need help

Min of 2 hours a day of grinding and try for more WIth AUTO TOP UP ON as everyone says do this. Scares the hell out of me but everyone says this is what must do

Focus on DOES MY BETTING MAKE SENSE, meaning I gotta start paying attention to all this implied odds, pot odds and try to put it all together

OPEN MY MIND - True payers focused on improving seem to use the HEMS and HUDS so when I start my cash journey I have downloaded PT3 (THIS IS WHAT I NEED RIGHT) and Im going to use it, Im also gonna post it cause Im gonna need some help with these numbers. I should be able to cash enough to pay for it after a 60 day trial

WHAT STAKES, I guess 2NL was thinking one step higher but Im not sure Im quit ready to get to the 10Nl area. But I WILL ALWAYS BUY IN FOR FULL and keep it full.

Learn HOW TO CLEAR A DEPOSIT and finally get some kind of bonus as I never have. Get the most out my rake back accounts. I got rake back on all my accounts but I play so little I dont see anything. (SOmetimethis year Iwant to put down a few hundred dollars and not be worried about weather I will be able to clear the bonus)

Going to actually study my sesssions after, and see if I can pick up on stuff and start trying to learn how to read other players

USE WHAT I LEARN NOW TO quit looking like a deer in theheadlights when I play live NL (ITS REALLY BAD)

Dont really have money expectations as I feel I might be starting over and Im using this time as learning experience before US Legalization comes and then I CAN MAKE THAT CASH LOL. To me, I have over a year of very casual very cheap poker, THis is a pivotal year for me as I think it will determine if I want to be a player (ala put in the TIME) or just continue down my casual rode of mediocrity

Wally's Goals For 2012

I have not done this in several years, but I remember that back when I did "write down my goals", I always seemed to accomplish more that year. You can obviously do this in many different ways (ie. on a computer or in hand-written format), but being old school, I will simply be using pencil and pen in a spiral notebook.

Wally’s Goals for 2012

Poker Goals:
- Focus on taking poker tournaments & SnGs more seriously...use better Bankroll Management…play fewer tournaments and be more selective in tournaments played (bigger payouts)...play to “not lose” and be “ITM in all MTTs and SnGs”…play fewer marginal and speculative hands.
- Focus on learning to play Ring Games better…use better Bankroll Management…read articles and poker books on Poker Ring Games at least 30 minutes twice weekly…find and use a coach for Ring Game improvement…consider a HUD for Cash game improvement.
- Maintain accurate record of all poker played and review twice weekly for “lessons learned”.
- Net a minimum of $100 in tournaments each week.
- Net a minimum of $50 each week from SnGs.
- Net a minimum of $50 each week from Cash games.
- Move up successfully to $20 HU and DON SnGs.
- Cash over $500 in a single MTT by mid-year and over $1,000 by years end "on-line".
- Play poker "live" in Vegas or a similar Casino environment by years end.
- Maintain a Poker Journal.

Life Goals:
- Achieve better relationships with Family and Friends.
- Attend church more; meditate and practice yoga daily.
- Eat more nutritionally…more fruits and vegetables.
- Exercise a minimum of 30 minutes, 4 days a week.
- Ride a bike a minimum of 30 minutes, 4 days a week.
- Read a minimum of 1 book per month.
- Learn a new skill monthly and teach to at least one other person.
- Not be as critical of other people… pro-active in helping others.
- Maintain a Life Journal.

I set up a cash one we have about 10 daily contributors, I can set up an MTT one if you wish?

imo these goals are going to be very unattainable due to variance of such short term goals. Monthly or probably better yearly goals will be better.

$2.5k from cash and $2.5k from SNGays would be a better outlook but same overall goal, you just may get down if you continually miss weekly goals which could be down to just variance

Skype is free whoever asked, just download it from http://www.skype.com if it isn't already pre-installed on your comp.

As for my goals, Supernova and 100nl shots. I'm also creating a new Skype account now and want to be a daily contributor there after falling away from it.

I'm going to be putting in hands, that's been my biggest weakness and that's why Supernova is my main goal, everything else is secondary. I'm confident in my abilities, I feel I can contribute and analyse hands well, I need to convert this into money.

I want to hit my monthly hand targets and make it a 10k year with Supernova bonus'. I know it is obtainable. Let's go.

Cool.

I'm going to busy for a bit yet here at work (few more weeks, maybe a month?) but for sure would like to get into when I get some time free (or maybe sooner.. just that I won't be around much til' feb.)
