I believe it will be a battle between people who use sophisticated AI tools and those who don't and rely on their own judgment of the game.

Online for money will be 100% dead at least in its current form.

Maybe we (or AI) can create a virtual reality where we can play in a Live poker simulation. You can be a player in the Old West or in a Bond movie scenario.

I think poker will be alive in 20 years, of course, but there will be few people in it because they will create new games that will bring players more pleasure than poker, and the cash winnings will be even greater in other games, but only players who just love poker even without money will play poker

What do you think poker will be like in 20 years?
Regarding people's opinion about the game
I believe the core won’t change. In fact there’s a plateau at the number of players adhering poker as it isn’t an unknown anymore. I also believe there’s a parable concerning the up and downs of the aggressiveness and looseness gamers.

What will poker be like online and offline? Online poker will be the way it will be profitable for poker rooms. We all see pokerstars removing cash freerolls, for example. It's a change that will affect us all in some way or another. Offline poker, on the other hand, will not change at all.

in 20 years, the online game will be so badly infested by bots that it will only be suckers game. To be honest, at the micro level its already almost to that level. We'll probably be watching bots play though as a sport, rather than playing aginst them unknowlingly.

I think online games and in particular online poker will only become more popular. Great entertainment that brings pleasure and money, without leaving your own comfortable apartment :)

In my opinion, in 20 years, poker will become even more popular than it is now, there will be many more tournaments with big prizes, and the level of players will increase significantly. I also think that people will come up with software that will be better than HUD, maybe even artificial intelligence will play instead of humans, but I hope it won't happen.

I think poker will be more alive and popular in 20 years with some changes like ; Unlimited re-entry events will declined , Online poker will come back to America and maybe create a new form of poker game.

If I think about it, I think it will be similar to today exactly as it was 20 years ago, but in the future there will certainly be much fewer promotions, exactly how the situation evolved starting 20 years ago. (about promotions).Otherwise there will always be new players and players who will be getting older.

I don’t think anything can change in poker even in 200 years. Perhaps online gambling will lose its scale and ambitions, but it will still be the favorite game of millions of people in home gatherings and casino lounges.

Envisioning online poker in 20 years, we anticipate a blend of technological innovation and evolving player experiences. Virtual reality could transform the digital felt, offering a fully immersive environment that replicates the nuances of live play. AI advancements might lead to more sophisticated opponent analysis tools, though this raises ethical considerations regarding fairness and skill. Player training could evolve with AI-driven personalized coaching, enhancing skill levels across the board. Cryptocurrencies might become standard for transactions, ensuring faster, more secure gameplay. The global player pool could expand, with emerging markets adding diversity to the game. We also foresee stricter regulations to ensure responsible gaming and prevent addiction. Tournament structures could evolve, perhaps with more interactive, audience-engaging formats. Social aspects of poker might be amplified, with integrated platforms for player interaction beyond the table. However, the core of poker - strategy, psychology, and the thrill of the game - will likely remain timeless, continuing to draw players from all walks of life.

I believe that the next 20 years will bring us many surprises. But I am sure that by 2044, no-limit hold'em will lose its popularity and will give way to another version of poker as the most popular game. Players from South and Southeast Asia will become the main audience for poker sites, and the majority of poker fans will move to home and junk games. As for online poker, it will become more enjoyable and welcoming for beginners. Most likely, in this area there will also be an urgent need to combat poker bots.

I don't know, really hard to say but I think most people tend to look down on poker and poker players. I think if the laws don't change its not looking good for poker in general.

I guess it might be similiar to online chess now... People could use engines to find easily the best moves & there will be engines in place that monitor every play and find and ban those players...

What do you think poker will be like in 20 years?
Regarding people's opinion about the game
I think that freerolls will disappear altogether. Considering the dynamics, I think that in 3-5 years freerolls will simply become a thing of the past. No one wants to spend money on promotional companies and in general I think the popularity of poker will gradually decrease.

can you give a bit more details on why you think that? "No one wants to spend money on promotional companies" unfortunately I don't know what you mean by this.
