Is Poker Gambling?

I don't consider poker as gambling but there are more people who think it is.
In Poker you have control over your game. Its not like your buying a lotto ticket or playing the slots where you have no control of the results.

Some times it is sometimes is not, online depends on the software, sometimes the opponent "must win" regardless the cards that he was.

You put it in a great way. Poker really is a game of skill and if someone says it depends a lot on luck, can we question what does not depend on luck? Love, a great job, having good kids. Everything we can get with skills, but if we lack luck, we can have it all lost. Just like poker.

In the long run playing tournament with hour or 2 per level you can minimize the luck. But there was as far as i remember only one player wo became a champion more than once in wsop ME: Stu engar. So it has to be PART luck.

Poker can still be gambling despite being fundamentally different from fixed odds games at a casino. There is still a large component of the game that is purely random chance.
