For me Poker is and has always been my entertainment... I win I lose and I don't take any of it too seriously... Of course like most I do like the challenge and the game is always changing it can have its ups and downs but over all I seem to play at least one to two games a day and have for years... Sometimes I cant get enough and other times I do get down and bored with it but still manage to play something whether it be a freeroll or a few sngs I seem to always play something.... I think to play a long tourney you have to have the time and the right mind set or it could become work if your always trying so hard and totally focused...
I believe that poker is a profession, same as chessplayer. As in any game, there are people for whom it's a hobby, there are amateurs and professionals.
My level still does not allow me to do my work! But I'm learning to play, I am now on day 3 - 4 hours I spend at the tables, and 1 hour in theory classes! I hope to raise their level high!
When I made my first deposit my mind was already set that I wanted to win money. I tried playing play money but it never made sense to me. Same with friends sitting around and wasting some time, we have tried to play with no stakes involved but it just isn't the same. I would say as for now it is a job but one that I enjoy very much. Good luck on the felts!
everyone puts poker on a certain place in your life. for some it is work - a difficult and laborious. for others it is a game - an interesting and exciting. Some people combine it as you are. and still there is no exact dividing line poker as a kind of activity
For me, poker is a game but I believe that if we play poker one day be a job.
But until that day has to play a lot of tournaments, read several books about poker and who knows maybe one day I say my job is playing poker
For now, just good fun! I think the main goal of any fish to become a shark, then this game can be the main and the only "job". Of course, this requires a lot of time and learning but certainly isn't impossible.
