I would say if your family is telling you that you spend too much time playing poker, than that is probably true. With that being said, how fortunate are you that you have a family that wants to spend time with you? I definitely would look at that statement as a blessing . . . Poker will always be here, but your family will not . . .

Poker brings me extra income, which I am happy to spend on my family's needs. Therefore, in fact, everyone is happy. :)

Interesting prospective . . . Things will never replace time with loved ones. As I mentioned in my original post, poker will always be here, but our loved ones will not always be with us.

It seems to me that if the family saw the result of your game in a positive monetary income, then such comments would not arise.

Old age is about memories . . . I honestly do not have any memories of the 'stuff' that was bought for me in my lifetime, but I have the greatest memories of time spent together as a family or group of friends. I doubt that as you age you will have those fond memories of staring at a computer screen, winning a tournament and buying 'stuff' will be there for you in your later years . . . time with family and friends will always trump 'stuff' you can purchase.

It has happened to me in similar but only minor situations. For the most part, however, they support when it comes to poker. However, it was often frustrating for me that I didn’t have time for anything because of poker. In fact, all your free time is taken away by poker!

What should you do when no one from your family supports you in poker? Sometimes it gets very sad (

You're right, things will never replace time spent with loved ones. So what's the problem?
After all, no one is forcing you to spend time playing poker.

It's a problem that many players must go through, I've seen interviews from top players who report the same thing.
I think that poker is a very competitive sport, and to be successful it is not only to be the best player, but also to shine the star of the player.
It's a high-risk sport, and that's why people tend to be prejudiced about the game. Because you have to invest money, losses can be constant, etc., it's something that involves the family and can have conflicts.

really

In my case, my family has told me that I play too long. I would like to know if the same thing or something similar happened to you, such as that you spend more time with them, that playing poker is bad, it does not suit you, etc.
the game really takes us a lot more time to play and spend time with the family you can play 6 to 8 hours a day during the week but you can take the rest of the time for the family i usually play more at night from 6pm at 00.00

In the first year, part of my family was against me playing poker due to the fact that it was compared to gambling, for example, to the casino. Recently, poker has not caused problems with any family member.

I have no problem with my family. I don't play poker during the day when everyone has work or family matters. Only in the evening when everyone has free time. Therefore, everyone spends his time as he pleases.

If a player with family can give a part of in-money of poker, no one protests.
It depends on how much the family can receive money.

If a wife of the player receives US5000 per month, normally she doesn´t say anything.

At first I had problems with my wife because of poker, especially when I invested money there. But over time, the wife got used to it, and now does not pay attention to it. So patience will help everything.

Yes. Sometimes poker takes a very long time. Here is my boyfriend today played until 4 o'clock in the morning. And then in the morning, I couldn't wake him up. You have to play wisely.

Previously, my family was very picky about my passion for poker, they considered me mentally ill. A couple of years passed, and when I got money from earning poker, they changed their minds.

I am the only serious Poker player in my family and have to watch who I am talking to, when it comes to the subject, I will answer anyone who ask's me about the game, but my Wife especially hates the game, will find every opportunity to complain about my passion.
My only reply to her is I have never deposited a single red cent on-line, and as far as playing Live my bankroll speaks for itself, she has had more than her share of my Live winnings.
I promised her years ago that I would not lose a penny playing on-line Poker and have stuck to my promise religiously, for me Poker is a passion, I love the game, but saying that I know my limits and stick to them, Poker for me is fun, and if you are not having fun with every game you play, then don't play! it is that simple.
Even when I lose, I can still laugh when someone sucks-out on me, because that is the nature of the game, it happens, get used to it, because it happens to everyone at some time or other, even the Pro's, Spend some time watching videos on-line and you will see them all the time.
Quite recently I watched a hand in a live tournament where 4 players went all-in with A/A, K/K, Q/Q, 7/7, and the 7/7 won and quadrupled up, that's a Super Suck-out, That's Poker!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

Most poker players at first go through this with our family members because they compare poker to a game of chance and waste of time and money, but your family's beliefs about the game begin to change when you show them that it is a game of mental skill and a game of luck, you will see that when you have positive results they will say that it is a hobby that generates money, but when you lose they will judge you and say that you are addicted to the game, but show them that it is not so and that you can live from poker as a part-time job at first.
