Slot machines you may be one off lucky, but they are programmed to take more than they give other the long term, and you have no way of knowing where the positive blips are. The main reason they play Poker in Casino's is the simple fact most poker players are gamblers and although they host large tourney's they will not make that much from it.
The rakes from cash games have to be small enough to keep players interested and the buy-in to a large Tourney is not what they are interested in.
The real profits come from the side games like blackjack, roulette and Slots and if you have half a dozen friends who come along to play in a tournament and one bust's out early, What's he going to do with himself if he cannot buy back in and he is waiting around for his pals? Gamble!
It is that simple, a pal of mine went to a Casino in Manchester and busted out early then lost all his remaining cash on the roulette tables. At one point he was £300 up then within an hour he lost the lot and more besides.
