I think bankroll managing is the hardest part as a professional. Instead of 25 buy-ins like most people reccommend, I think you should try to set a higher amount if that makes you play better. I personally use 100 buy-ins as a rule for me.

Agree 100%. That has to be THE most important skill that most find very hard to master.

you need to look for a lot of information where even the professionals throw off good cards so as not to make big mistakes, you need to look through a lot of useful and educational information so that you make fewer mistakes in the game!

This is a good question and hard ti answer...there are alot of different things to keep in mind...but im no professional so my advice is worth about 2 cents...but anyways

Bankroll management is su0er important...risk management also...learning hand ranges etc...either way you wont become a pro overnight and it takes years of practice

This is my biggest flaw I think, whenever I have a premium hand but not quite the nuts and the other player goes all-in, most of the time I end up calling and them showing the nuts, I am working on it though, fold your hands folks!

Do not be afraid to fold a seemingly strong hand, for example: AK. Depending on the situation and observation of enemies, of course

So with you want to be a professional you will have to manage your bankroll (playing 1% or 2% of the total) and be able to quit on bad day, discipline and metal game are going to be essentials for you. And with you want to be a successful player, you have to study a lot (books or youtube), don`t forget to analyse how you played some tournaments that is going to make your path easier (try pokertracker for this). Cheers !

For poker to be a business you need to approach it as a business. For example with SNGs, figure out what ROI you can obtain in your favourite game and then convert that to $/per SNG played. Then multiply this figure to understand what volume you need to put in to get the money you need to live.

Example 10% ROI playing $3.00 SNGs means you are expected to win $0.30/SNG, means $3.00 every 10 played, $30.00/100, $300/1,000 etc. Then figure out how many you can realistically play in an hour and in a day. It should be quick to see that the sheer volume at lower limits would be impossible to make enough to survive on ... you will need to move up to mid/high stakes for poker to be your main gig.

Start crunching some basic numbers like this is the first step to turn a vague dream into an actual plan

Anyone who isn't already a successful pro can only make educated guesses...

Mine would be to analyse your previous play and study strategy for at least as much time as you spend actually playing, if not more.

Alongside that, bankroll management, game selection, risk management and patience.

I completely agree with this, I use the 1 percent rule as well, if I get bored with it I start to go to a 1% average buyin for the day instead. But BR. management is absolutely necessary.

What kind of business? Online? You will be deceived. Just as in life, either deceived or killed. No online poker business. All these Poker Professionals are hiding behind poker bots. You will be deceived. They will show the best hand. It doesn't matter who you are. I'm talking for the moment. Perhaps everything will change in the near future. I believe that.

I call this whole poker hat! Poker Hat!

As a business, poker is a high-risk type of activity. When investing in finances and hoping to earn a lot of money, you need to consider many risk factors. This is the same thing that we try to do in a casino to catch luck and get rich. You can thoroughly study all the nuances of poker every day puff over analysis and theory, lay out for discussion hundreds of thousands of hands played - and still be constantly in the red. Because luck and luck do not want to look in your direction! In my opinion, poker should be treated like a hobby, which not well It’s easy to spend some time and money.

Bull s### poker is not a business as a way of living if you invest your savings. But if u win a Big tourney with investing few money then u Can play poker without risking your own money. Working for a company or society is the Key. Poker is just leisure time. :pcguru::pepsi:
